Knee pain
My knees hurt so badly after yoga. I’m guessing it’s from the thin mat and wood floors. Any tips on how to ease the knee pain?

Alternatives to Ashtanga yoga for a fixed, daily meditative practice?
Hello everyone, I have been doing Ashtanga on and off for a while now and I love the fixed aspect of it, but I'm not sure if I actually like the poses and their sequence that much. So to branch out, I was wondering what other yoga sequences can be memorized, are balance and built for long term repetition? That would mean a good, overall sequence with no specific focus on anything. Of course any yoga flow can be memorized and repeated, but some might be built with this approach in mind, like ashtanga. Thank you for any suggestions in this regard?!

Yoga app or website where you can build a sequence and save it?
Hi, I'm trying to find a yoga app or website, ideally an iPhone app, where it has building blocks of poses and each pose has its name (ideally in Hindi and English), and a picture/illustration of the pose. And then you can drag them around to create your own flow, and save that. I'm sure this exists, can anyone recommend anything like this? Thank you

How are you incorporating other strength training into your yoga practice?
I am 46m and have been practicing yoga fairly consistently for about eight years. Recently I have become interested in body weight training, free weight training, or a combination of the two. My goal is to trim off some unhealthy fat, increase strength, and build some muscle. As I ruminate upon what my weekly schedule might be, I am curious as to how these different modalities can coexist. Ideally, I’d like to do a yoga flow every morning! However, I’m reading that it’s good to take some rest days between body weight / free weight workouts. So, on those “off days,” should I just do a yin flow? This is my thinking. And what about on the weight training days? How do I incorporate yoga and weight training on the same day? Those of you who do weight training AND yoga: What’s been your experience? What has worked for you?

First yoga nidra experience
It was crazy and totally unexpected. Can someone explain what happened?! My brain had been a little busy but once my thoughts stopped, I couldn’t move my body. My brain kept wanting me to move but my body was so relaxed, I couldn’t move. It was uncomfortable. I think it likely worked, but because we’re so used to movement and stimulation, it was very uncomfortable. ETA-I did not fall asleep.
