For who started their own ventures in their 20s with little capital, what was the final straw that pushed you to take the risk?

I've been grinding away in the corporate world, providing IT support day in and day out. While it's been a stable source of income, I can't shake off this persistent feeling of restlessness. My mind is constantly preoccupied with creative ideas, and one in particular has taken root in my heart: a space ship-themed café / bookstore. I've been taking many notes and researching the concept of it. I don't believe it'll make millions but it seems to connect with my interests from the times I've been searching for a good cafe / bookstore The fear of leaving my stable job and diving headfirst into the unknown is paralyzing. That's why I'm seeking inspiration and wisdom from all of you who have taken that leap of faith. I really don't want to be in my 40s having thousands saved finally only for the business to be a flop or success. I'm tempted to try it as a guy in my late 20s.

Getting set to open in two months and thinking about hiring. Should I outsource hiring?

The place next door to me is a recruiting team. Basically they’ll hire staff workers and if I pay them $15, they’ll pay the worker $11. The key is, they also provide medical and dental options as well as covered vacation pay after a year of employment. As a startup, I can’t offer any of that. (Or maybe for $4/hr I actually could?!). But they also handle all the recruiting and background checks and all the other stuff as well as unemployment insurance, etc. it’s a full service staffing option. But for four employees I need, (2 full, 2 part) that’s an extra $2,000 a month, roughly. Or do I just offer my potential employees $14 and no services and call it a day? Any advice out there?

How do I find reliable employees?

My company sells specialty food items at farmers markets. I pay my people very well for the work they do, with my top earner making $35/hour simply running a booth for a day. Yet all of them(I have five employees) constantly flake. They make more money off the bat than I ever have. So, how do I find people that are happy to reliably collect a great paycheck?

Marketing for Dental Practice in Manhattan.

My aging parent has 40+ years in the dental field. 2 practices. One of them in Manhattan has seen 1/2 the revenue +/- since Covid and moving to a new location. He is still practicing and has a lease on a location for another 10 years. I believe he needs to lean into Sales and Marketing in was that he is not familiar with. He and his staff are capable of taking on over x4 the work they are currently processing. Any leads or recommendations for marketing specifically in relation medical practices in big cities? Our goal is to boost revenue over the next 3-5 years in aim of selling the practice at as high a rate as possible.

Set up financials for start-up

Hello everyone. My husband is starting up a machine shop business and we've been discussing the best way to set up financials for the company, specifically for tracking expenses. Husband wants to have cards (debit or credit) for himself and 3 other department heads for business expenses that don't require pre-approval and have a max limit on those cards. He also wants to have a separate bank account for each department...one main one and a separate bank account for each department. From an accounting and bookkeeping perspective, does anyone have any advice on how to set up the business to work efficiently like this or any caution against it? Is there any reason that having separate bank accounts for each department would be bad idea? Thanks for any advice.

How to handle VAT/tax invoices for every purchase from my web app?

I live in Belgium and I am a professional web developer. I'm about to release a web application where users can purchase credits. And they can spend those credits for in-app purchases. My users can be from anywhere across the world. It doesn’t matter whether they are consumers/private persons without a business/tax-or VAT number or businesses with tax-or VAT number. And invoices should be generated and sent to users for every purchase. When it comes to handling payments, I am planning to use [Mollie](https://www.mollie.com). It is an alternative to Stripe. Anyone who knows how to handle these administrative tasks in regards to tax/VAT invoices? Is there a third party service that I can rely on and integrate it into my web app?

How do you make your schedule C?

Do you go to a dedicated tax preparer for the creation of your schedule C? Does bookkeeping software do this for you, or is that just accounting stuff? edit: okay so tax prep software and accounting software are separate. I ask because Lili has a $20/mo option where it will auto-generate a schedule C for you. I mean, is it worth it? $240 a year and then paying for filing seems expensive. Should I just get a free bank account and file my taxes separately?

What type of loan?

I'd like to buy a business & property that has not been operational in over ten years and renovate it to make it operational again. It will take a lot to make it operational again. The property itself, in it's current state, is around $300K. What types of loans should I look into to fund the initial purchase?

The app I’m making is still in the process of development, but it will be ready very soon and I hope to get some advertisements on it. Any advice on how to get ads? I’m new to running a business and all that stuff so if anybody can answer my question that’d be great.

Help me

Me and my friend are about to open a vintage clothing store. I pay no rent to the building and make %100 of what i sell in the store from my own inventory. I’ve saved $500 from graduation money and i’m thinking if I should continue saving it or put it into the shop.
