Having trouble falling in love with a "theme"
I want to open a small bar/music venue in a small midwestern city of about 60,000. The need for a local music venue is absolutely present, but my biggest and most present obstacle is finding a theme and name for my place. I have managed many places but this will be my first time owning a business so any resources, tools, suggestions are greatly appreciated in starting this journey.

The meeting will be online and would take around 30-45 minutes. To express our gratitude, you will receive a $30 gift card from a store of your choice. Waiting to hear back from those interested.

Hi-tech payroll provider for a remotely run cleaning business.
Hey all! I run a remote business which is a cleaning company. I never meet my employees in person and have no offices in the states I operate in. Looking for payroll provider recs. I used ADP in the past but found them to be a bit old-fashioned. Ideally want something that handles 15 employees now, with room to add 200+, with a pretty linear increase in fees. Hoping for something very automated, where new hires can fill in hiring paperwork (W2, I-9, W4) within the software and it sends them nudges to do so (cleaners need to be reminded multiple times). If a notary service for the I-9 is included that's great but not expecting that really. Also, staff need to be able to fill in their own timesheets weekly through the software. Some kind of punch clock using a smartphone app that also includes geofencing would be ideal. Not sure if any payroll service can combine all of this?

Would it even be WORTH it to compete against Tesla at this point?
I have an idea for an electric vehicle company but I don't even know if it would be worth it or not because of Tesla's dominance in the Auto industry. If you would like to find out more about my idea feel free to ask 🙂

Businesses with surprising economics?
I have a friend who works in recruitment, specifically cyber security / fintech. He recently started his own firm and is smashing it. I was talking to him about the business and he said that recruitment firms usually take 15-20% of the candidates first year salary. So if he places someone on £300k base the company makes £60k. To me this was so surprising, I thought that was such a high percentage to pay. And the business could be run pretty lean, you don't need hundreds of employees in all sorts of different functions. He could effectively run that business by himself, do say 6 hires a year and be making serious revenue with little overheads (relatively speaking). It got me thinking do you know of any other types of businesses that have surprisingly lucrative economics like this?

Asphalt business?
Anyone have any experience is this line of work? I’m looking to leave the corporate world to become a business owner. Starting a paving business has my attention because while trying to get my driveway done, every business I called was too busy to do it anytime in the next 3 months. Also, I have the money to buy (or get financing) for expensive equipment. Seems like there is always a need and if you have seed money and some business acumen, there is a lot of opportunity. All feedback welcome.

A record number of groups are lobbying for cannabis reform as legalization movements sweep the nation. While companies fight for dominance, Black people — historically targeted for marijuana use — are underrepresented in the industry. Here’s why. https://t.co/rf461m5M9t https://t.co/EJSOaOV3Zj

Opening my first retail shop- looking for any tips and advice to make things work
Well it finally happened. After a year of grinding away I finally got approved for a brick and mortar shop. I’m 8 days away from the lease start date and nervous as all hell. I had been selling only e-commerce but due to demand decided to do in-person. Do you guys have any tips to make sure things go smoothly along the way? There’s so much to take care of I’m afraid I’m gonna miss something or screw something up.
