Hypothetically tax question- Holding company/ subsidiary model

Say I have a Holding company - Company A, an operating company- Company B. If a company B generates 100k profit, I’ll be moving this to the holding company and then pay the taxes for this using Schedule C. What if, this 100k was used to buy a rental property under a different LLC - Company C? Basically the profit from B comes to A and goes out as expense in acquiring Company C. So virtually there is no profit on Company A’s books. Am I still on the hook to pay taxes for this? I understand that this might be a very silly question as I lack basic knowledge of how these things work, just thought I’d ask to see what people over here think.
