An old companion, probably the second or so artisan Tokoname Kyusu I purchased as a young student and fresh ceramics collector almost a decade ago. As far as I remember the very first one was by Hokujo, the second one was this beautiful flat Kyusu by seiji_ito9 aka Jinshu! Since then I always reserved it for special Sencha sessions, honoring some of the best picks of the season with a Gyokuro like brewing style. This year I didn’t try too many different Senchas but this Shizu-7132 cultivar from Kawane, Shizuoka via florent_thes_du_japon is definitely a highlight! Detailed review is following!
