Just have to mark the moment because yesterday the first baby zinnias from the breeding program went in the ground. We’ve had the wettest, coldest spring on record and are so behind getting things planted because it’s just been way too cold. We decided to finally go for it on planting into the unheated greenhouses and are putting up hoops to cover with frost cloth in case the temps drop again. We’re trying a new technique with some of the breeding selections and while these look really close together (they are!) we’ll be thinning them out massively as they start to flower. I’ll explain more as it unfolds and even more if it works. Farming is such a tricky job because you can do everything in your power to ensure a successful crop but since you can’t control the weather, you ultimately have no real say over the outcome. All we can do is our best and hope things go well enough for a crop! #floretseeds #ayearinflowers

Outdoor space at a premium? You can still enjoy a flower-packed garden, filled with colour 🌸 Alan Titchmarsh recommends plants for big impact in a limited space. https://t.co/uMvipqRPNZ

Where I’ve been spending a lot of my time this week & it’s been heaven. I was so busy I didn’t have time before I left for England to get the sweet peas tied to the netting. I thought being gone a week wouldn’t be too bad, but then I was gone for two weeks & they went bonkers. So I’ve had alot of tying & tidying up to do in here…. but hey it’s not really work if you love it right? Surrounded by my favorite flowers & their intoxicating fragrance, you can’t wipe the smile from my face right now. #flowerfarmer #flowerfarm #flowerfarming #thefarmhouseflowerfarm #sweetpeas #sweetpea #lathyrus #springflowers #localflowers #cutflowers #freshflowers #flowers #flowergarden #washingtonflowers #pnw #stanwood

Happy Thursday flower people! It’s going to be another hot one up here in northern NH and I’m running around to get everything watered and cared for before the heat of the afternoon sun is upon us again! Everything is so tender right now 😭🥴☀️ On that note, I will be opening up the farm stand THIS SATURDAY only (5/14) from 9-5 (or until sold out!). I will be offering grab and go bunches of specialty daffodils, tulips, and mason jar arrangements! The farm is looking oh so beautiful and springy so make sure you come grab some blooms and take in some north country beauty! #flowerfarmer #farmstand #grownnotflown #daffodil #buylocal #supportlocal #sugarhill #nh
