Sowed this #Salvia a couple of years ago. Came out beautiful and it thrives in the dry part of my #garden https://t.co/q0qYSfxu7h

I like big blooms and I can not lie โ€ฆ ha ha, couldnโ€™t help myself. Garden roses gathered before they burned up in the hot, hot sun, plus the very last of the peonies. Scrumptious.

Gearing up for another hot one today but thankfully itโ€™s only supposed to be in the high 80โ€™s*. The greenhouses and hoop houses (there are 37 ๐Ÿ˜ฑ) heat up super fast so I try and get as much as I can done inside before 8:30/9:90 because after that itโ€™s just too hot. This is one of our seed production greenhouses filled with Zinnia Golden Hour and they have just exploded in this heat. Itโ€™s so exciting to see them again and they are looking even more beautiful than before. If youโ€™re interested in seed availability Iโ€™ve put a link to sign up for our newsletter in my bio. Thatโ€™s where Iโ€™ll be sharing all of the info about our breeding project seed so sign up if you want the scoop. #floretseeds

Itโ€™s another hot one out there today ๐Ÿฅต Trying to get all the harvesting done before itโ€™s too hot but as soon as I walk into the sun Iโ€™m already sweating. Thankful we got enough rain to saturate the gardens last night, giving us a break from hours of tedious watering in the wee hours of the morning! All the plants seem so happy and Iโ€™m hoping more rain is on the way tomorrow. In the mean time donโ€™t forget We are BACK OPEN again this week, Weds-Sat 9-5 for grab and go bouquets as well as at the littletonfarmersmarket_nh on Sunday! Lots of crops exploding into bloom like these beautiful cosmos! My favorite ๐Ÿ’ซ #flowerfarmer #cosmos

My morning walk thru the sweet peasโ€ฆ. ok honestly I was giving them a little pep talk and surveying the damage & seeing how theyโ€™re responding to the heat. Weโ€™re not out of the woods yet but for the most part they look really good. Weโ€™ll see how things go over the next few days before I really know the full extent of how theyโ€™re doing but Iโ€™m hoping we made it thru the worst of it. ๐Ÿคž #flowerfarmer #flowerfarm #flowerfarming #sweetpeas #sweetpea #sweetpeapatch #thefarmhouseflowerfarm #localflowers #washingtonflowers #flowers #flowersofig #countryliving #farmlife #garden #stanwood #pnw #summerflowers #farmfreshflowers #cutflowers

We're facing twin crises: the climate emergency and biodiversity loss. That's why we're joining the #RaceToZero and plan to go even further to become climate positive by 2030. ๐ŸŒŽ โ™ป๏ธ #LCAW2021 https://t.co/hdbZqtHEJs

Seems we are on the other side of the intense heat wave that hit the Pacific Northwest. Currently 73 degrees feels fantastic. The poppies were interesting to watch during the heat wave, looked like the petals melted during the heat of the day! By evening all petals had dropped and by morning new blooms were open. Normally they last for a few days in the garden. They really are a fascinating little flower, arenโ€™t they?
