Sunflower Steve, this one is for you! Back in the winter we received a curious email from a flower farmer in Wisconsin who had been working on breeding an open pollinated mix of Teddy Bear type Sunflowers in the craziest range of colors. I was so intrigued by his note and the photos that we got on a call and ended up totally hitting it off. A few months later after many more conversations, he flew out to meet us, then sent along seed of his babies and now the very first of Steve’s sunflowers are blooming here on our farm. Our goal is to bring seed for this amazing mix to the world in the near future. It has been so much fun to be able to play a small part in Steve’s journey. You guys are going to freak out when you see these babies in real life! We have a few name ideas squirreled away but I’d love to hear yours too. #floretseeds
