In celebration of the #LunarNewYear and the #YearOfTheTiger, we’re sharing the Museum’s Tiger Diorama!🐅 In this scene, a female tiger enjoys a drink while her cubs relax, hidden from predators by the tall grass. Tiger stripes are good for camouflage. And like human fingerprints, each set of stripes is unique. In fact, researchers can identify individual animals by their stripes! See this diorama up close in the Hall of Asian Mammals. The Museum is open from Wednesday–Sunday, 10 am–5:30 pm. Photo: M. Shanley/© AMNH #amnh #tiger #AnimalFacts #NaturalHistory #DYK
