If you pour your milk in last you've been doing it all wrong... Professor Alan Mackie, from the School of Food Science and Nutrition at Leeds University, says people living in hard water areas should add the milk BEFORE the boiling water to give you a "far superior flavour" βοΈ "The more minerals present in water the more difficult it is for these compounds to develop the flavour - resulting in the dull cuppas you get in hard water areas." Which way round to you make a brew? π€

Leeds Beckett University's Jack Colmer built the clever device - which holds six rolls of bin bags at a time and even has a handy bottle opener - after being shocked at the site of rubbish left at Woodhouse Moor in the city last week. He said: "Itβs been crazy - I genuinely didnβt expect such a positive reaction, I just wanted people to be aware that there were now some bin bags in Hyde Park to tackle the issue of litter. But itβs had a great response both on Facebook and LinkedIn and, fingers crossed, now we can get the ball rolling where we can provide some more permanent solutions for the parks. A bigger bonus if this could spread to other cities, as this isnβt something that only happens in Leeds." Jack has been rewarded with a Β£100 tab at nearby cafe, bar and arts venue Hyde Park Book Club and is hoping to "share it with my mates once we are allowed back in pubs." Amazing work Jack ππ colmers_diys
