#POTD Geysers are a type of hot springs that erupt when pressure builds up, shooting boiling water and steam into the air. Although rare, geysers can help us better understand eruptions and indicate heat sources below the surface. #EarthMonth Credit: Arctic-Images https://t.co/DUcNwCjvVp

Surfing those currents 😎⁣ ⁣ #EarthCapture by rosslong_⁣ ⁣ Sea turtles often travel vast distances using ocean currents to slingshot themselves to different areas. However, with global warming, some of these currents are now changing, having a negative effect on sea turtle migration. ⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ #bbcearth #seaturtle #turtle #oceans #underwaterphotography #oceanphotography #wildlife #wildlifephotography #naturephotography #amazinganimals #nature #naturelovers #earth #earthlovers

While these eggs may look like brightly dyed Easter eggs, they are actually the eggs of a Brewer’s sparrow—a small, drab, grey-brown bird with a very complex musical song. Males of this species use their distinctive and complex song to attract mates and defend nesting territory. Brewer’s sparrow nests are usually well-concealed and located toward the bottom of a sagebrush shrub. Each year, the park service monitors Brewer’s sparrows through breeding bird surveys. The park service also aids in conservation efforts of this species as it monitors the health of sagebrush steppe habitat from many threats, such as invasive species. 📸 J.Frank yellowstonenps #eggs #birds #nest #spring #funfactfriday
