Georgia's Republican lieutenant governor on Monday condemned President Donald Trump's phone call with Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, saying the President's effort to pressure the state's top election official to falsify election results was inappropriate. "I am 100% certified to tell you that it was inappropriate. And it certainly did not help the situation," Geoff Duncan told CNN. "It was based on misinformation, it was based on, you know, all types of theories that have been debunked and disproved over the course of the last 10 weeks." In audio first reported by The Washington Post and obtained by CNN, Trump is heard pressuring Raffensperger, who is also a Republican, to "find" votes to overturn the election in Georgia, which he lost to President-elect Joe Biden. Raffensperger rebuffed Trump's demand. Tap the link in our bio to learn more about the call.

President Trump pushed Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to "find" votes to overturn the election results after his loss to President-elect Joe Biden, according to an audio recording of a phone call obtained by CNN and first reported by the Washington Post. In excerpts of the stunning one-hour phone call Saturday, Trump lambasted his fellow Republican for refusing to falsely say that he won the election in Georgia and repeatedly touted baseless claims of election fraud. "The people of Georgia are angry, the people of the country are angry. And there's nothing wrong with saying that, you know, um, that you've recalculated," Trump said in one part of the call. Raffensperger responded, "Well, Mr. President, the challenge that you have is, the data you have is wrong." Tap the link in our bio to hear the call. Speaker Nancy Pelosi won a fourth non-consecutive term to lead the House of Representatives, suffering a handful of defections in a narrow vote after her party lost seats but kept control of the chamber. After serving for 17 years in charge of the House Democrats, Pelosi ran unopposed in her election. She is the first woman to be speaker, leading the House from 2006 to 2011, and since the Democrats took back the House in 2018. "It gives (me) great pride to serve as speaker of the most diverse House of Representatives in the history of our country," said Pelosi. (📸: Gabriella Demczuk/Getty Images)

In an hour-long phone call, Donald Trump was recorded pressuring Georgia's secretary of state to 'find' enough votes to overturn Joe Biden’s victory in the presidential election. In a tape obtained by the Washington Post, Trump was heard berating and seeminly begging Republican politician Brad Raffensperger to 'give me a break', saying 'I just want to find 11,780 votes', in the election the president refuses to concede. Trump did not win Georgia, which went Democratic for the first time since 1992. Its result has been certified. Attempts to pressure Republicans in other battleground states have failed, as have the vast majority of challenges to results in court. Swipe right for what we know about Trump's extraordinary call.
