2 and 5 year old have unlimited screen time

This is a constant battle between my husband and myself. He gives the kids unlimited screen time. Going so far as to buy them faster, newer tablets. And now he wants to buy the 5 year old a phone so he can play games. I am so frustrated because I'm trying to limit their screen time. And trying to engage them in other activities. But my H just gives them a screen because thats the easier thibg to do. They're on the tablet over 3 hours a day and it's getting out of control. Am I crazy to think this is way too much???

Husband: “Take some personal responsibility”

After being away all day at work and then getting his workout in with his friends, I spent 12 hours alone caring for our child, washing all the cloth diapers, steaming and making her food, cleaning, helping her with her constipation right now. Nursing, feeding, just you know… the everything. The cat tonight eats the pizza I left out ON THE TABLE as I am upstairs with daughter for her bath. I’m disappointed about my pizza, point it out, and the actual words out of his mouth: “Take some personal responsibility.” He was down here while I was upstairs but no. It’s my pizza so it’s “my fault” I guess. FFS I am burning hot right now WHY ARE THEY LIKE THIS!!!!!!!????

I got trash hamster!!!!!!!!

Hi. It's me, the weird lady who cried over a hamster she never met that was in a garbage bin. Today was his first day he was available. He is in good health but a little wary of people. I just brought him home and hour ago and he already chewed through the carrier while I was putting his new cage together. I did catch him finally and he's in his exercise ball on my hisband's lap while I finish setting up. I'm so happy he's home now. I got him treats, food, toys, a super cool cage with an upper deck, a wheel and tunnels, a dust bath and some toys. Hopefully he likes it here. He is absolutely adorable. I wish I could share a picture because he's just too cute. Thank you for those who came on this journey with me. He is healthy and safe. I'm not sure what will happen with the animal cruelty case against his old owner but our animal control is overwhelmed. But living wells the best revenge right? Welcome home Asblik. (It means trash bin.)

People not rsvp-ing to my kid’s party is making me insane. Help me.

What is this feeling I’m having 😞. People aren’t bothering to just say no to my kid’s party as it gets closer and closer and it feels really rude to me and is pissing me off. But I KNOW it’s low stakes. I have other shit to think about but I’m dwelling on this… why? 😭 any insight would be lovely. Maybe I feel insulted…? Or judged as like not worthy of a response…. I don’t like this feeling.

Wet hair

My 9mo has a lot of hair. I bathe her and wash her hair every night and then she goes to bed. She loves this part of her daily routine and needs it as she gets so messy from eating. How do you handle them having wet hair for bedtime? I hate having wet hair before bed but maybe it’s a non issue for them.

Magnesium lotion for sleeping?

Hello! I have a child that is a terrible sleeper. Desperate for any help, I purchased 8 Sheep Organics magnesium lotion to see if it would help. I know there are studies showing magnesium can help with sleep, I took while pregnant. I am unsure about the efficacy of a lotion though. Additionally, the instructions say to put the lotion on the bottom of the feet, which feels a little "essential oil"-y to me. I tried to look for studies to see if absorption is maximized through the bottom of the feet but I couldn't find anything. I think the lotion might be helping, but it could also be coincidence. I'll use the container until it's empty, it smells nice, but is it really more helpful than any other lotion?

How do I get my 10 month old to say mama?

My wife spends so much time working with him to say mama (our oldest said dada first too) and I spent 5 minutes a month ago getting him to say dada and he picked it up instantly. Now every time I (or mom) say “MaaaaMaaaa” he just retorts dada immediately and goes after me. Any tips?

Baby falling asleep during skin to skin

If my 2 week old baby is laying on her tummy, on my chest or stomach, and falls asleep, can I just let her as long as I’m still awake? Obviously I’d move her if I started feeling sleepy, but is it ok to let her nap like that if I’m alert?

Strangers touching newborn

A friend told me when I go around town / in public, that strangers will come up & try to touch my baby. Not always asking. That’s what they experienced. I was so surprised & now a little concerned as I don’t want anyone I’m not familiar with to be close to my LO, let alone touch her! I’ve been keeping a fabric cover over her stroller the few times she’s gone with me places, so no one can get too close. But on hot days (in California) I might want the cover off. Do I need to carry around a spray bottle to keep people away (kidding)!? But does this happen to you & do you have any tips? I would never just go up to someone I didn’t know & touch their stuff, let alone a child (ok maybe their dog but I’d ask first!).

Housekeeping

Hey all, I’m just wondering what the best way to keep house?? I am basically doing it all on my own as my husband works 65-80 hour weeks. I work 50 hour weeks, have two babies ( 2 yrs old and “helps” when she can god bless her, and an almost 3 month old), and a medium sized house. I have laundry baskets and trash cans in every room, I just can never can keep up and don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

Diaper rash after eating banana?

My 6-month-old started eating solids recently and we introduced him to avocado and everything was great. But after two days of giving him banana, we noticed a change in his poop texture and he developed a terrible rash which he has never had before. The rash is in the form of two spots that look like they are burned and have little bumps around. Could the banana be the cause of this reaction? Has anyone else experienced this with their baby? I will contact his pediatrician on Monday, but until there any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated.
