I am tired of people thinking I’m my kids’ nanny

I am Asian and married outside my race. I have 2 biological children and they look nothing like me. They apparently took after their father’s genes. Yesterday my kids and I took the bus to the mall and on the bus and a woman smiled and asked me “they’re so cute. Are you babysitting”?. This isn’t the first time people asked that. Everybody assumes I am the nanny just because I’m Asian my kids look White.

3 yo saying they want to be another gender?

Our 3 yo will say things like "I want to be a girl so I can wear a ponytail" or "I want to be a girl so I can be a teacher". We've told them boys can have ponytails and be teachers, but maybe they don't believe us because they never see it. Like 100% of the teachers at their preschool are women. They don't seem in any way unhappy with their genitals or anything. Are they unhappy with their gender, or just unhappy with *stereotypes* of their gender? How common is this at this age?

When did you stop keeping track of baby feeding and diaper change?

I have a one week old and ever since I’ve been in the hospital with him I use an app to keep track of every time the baby eats or has a diaper change. When did you stop keeping track of it all ?

Daughter 5 keeps getting ‘numbers’ in folder

Daughter is in kindergarten and halfway through. Every week it seems she is getting sent home with a number instead of a smiley face for her behavior for the day. (The numbers correspond to a negative behavior). Messy work, getting out of seat too much, talking after warning, etc. she is overall a pretty awesome kiddo but she definitely has some defiance issues. Strong willed and headed. Genuinely very sweet though and has a lot of friends. The teacher even goes as far as writing “messy :(“ on her papers. It’s just coloring. Occasionally she has messy handwriting but she’s 5. Report cards are always good and above average. I don’t like to take privileges away since she is in school all day and that’s not fair. I don’t think it would help to make her more miserable. We have a talk and she just says she didn’t know etc. Anyone else find this ridiculous or should I be more worried?

Things I can send to friend who had a C-Section?

My friend was dead-set on a "natural"/unmedicated/vaginal delivery without a hospital stay. She often expressed her anxiety about the hospital, and worry that she'd be depressed if she had a c-section or had to go to the hospital. As these things often go, she ended up with an emergency C-section. I want to support her in her recovery, physically and mentally, and help her as much as I can as a friend who lives out of state. As someone who did not have a c-section, I am drawing a blank on what I can do. I am going to make sure to send her some flowers/food for when she gets home, but if anyone has any good suggestions I'd love to hear them!

Are Pampers' sizes messed up, or an I doing this wrong?

My son is 6mo and has been wearing Pampers since birth. I've always found the sizing runs a bit small, but now I'm wondering if it's actually me that the problem. He was 15lbs at 5mo, I'd guess maybe 16 now. He's a small but fairly stocky dude (25% for weight, 10%for height). We've had him in size 3 for a while now, and I was surprised to go from 2-3 so early, but now we're having issues with the 3s! Leaks out the side, waistband leaving red marks... (And yes, we point him down) I bought a box of 4s, but then looked at the sizing and was like WTF... 3s are supposed to be like 16-28 and 4 is 22-37. How can the 3s be too small when there is NO way he's even 17lbs? What am I doing wrong here?

Walkers?

My mil got my son a walker but I don’t want him using walkers. How do I nicely tell her not to use walker while she takes care of my son? Also how do I tell her to ask me before she buys him anything toy related? Thanks!
