Bluey is parenting guide?
My kids love the bluey show, and i feel like the more i watch it the more it feels like it is a parenting guide 😓. Bluey has such wonderful parents, I find myself learning a lot but at times I am lowkey scared my kids will compare me with Bluey’s parents🤣.

What are your silliest habits with your kids?
All ages! I'll go first: I read whatever book I'm reading for myself out loud to my baby every night. That's not the silly part. The silly part is that I've come to the point where I don't read my book alone anymore because she'll miss part of the story. She's 7 months old. :')

Today is the day I break a leg. Or my butt
My wife is set up for a prenatal massage this afternoon and I have the day off today. That leaves me being the one to get our daughter to her figure skating lesson after school. Looking forward to that because I’m not usually home from work in time to go see her practice! But…she also likes to stay after practice and skate for a bit during the public ice time, so she said she wants me to bring my skates too. I said ok, but I can’t do the stuff she does! I’m not coordinated enough for that! “I’ll teach you!” She says with this big happy smile. Well…that’s it. Today’s the day. This is the day I probably break something 😂 I’ve never broken a bone before and I have a feeling I’m about 2 hours away from “there’s a first time for everything” 😂

My baby constantly screams "poop"
she is 9 months old, she says 4 words (mom, dad, water and poop). but since she learned to say "poop", she says it constantly. For example, I had a video conference with my college professor. The baby looked directly into the camera, smiled, and yelled "poop." the gossipy neighbor says "hello cute baby". my baby says "poop" I talk to a friend who complains about her boss, baby waits for a break and yells "poop, poop, poop,...". if he gets irritated he also yells "poop". So, either I have a very smart baby who has discovered that she can use that word properly in all contexts...or she likes the sound of that word 😅🤣

My husband would never talk to a waiter the way he talks to me.
It breaks my heart how rude he can be to me and how he “knows” to be polite to other people. Thanks for reserving your garbage behavior for me, asshole. It really hurts my feelings 😭

My baby is teaching me self love
I am a FTM to an 8 month old boy. I have had very low self esteem for as long as I can remember. I’ve always hated how I look, often crying by what I saw in the mirror. My son, the older he gets, looks more and more like me. He especially has my eyes. I’ve always been self conscious of my eyes because I was made fun of in my youth for how big they were and how that made them “creepy”. But to me, my son has the most beautiful eyes in the world to me. It’s strange how everything I hated about my appearance, I love in my son. It made me think how I would never want him to feel shame for the features he had no control over and as a result, it’s been teaching me not only to accept these parts of myself but to embrace them as well. It’s such an unexpected thing. I knew babies changed you but didn’t realize in how many deep and significant ways. Just wanted to share.

"she's lazy"
My MILs concluding statement on my LO's walking progression. We were over at MILs yesterday, at one point she asked me if my 11mo was walking at all, and I just laughed and said she only wants to take a couple of steps on her own and then kneels down and crawls the rest of the way. She pointed out that my 2.5yo was full-out walking at that age and I agreed, yes, she took her first steps at 10 months and was basically running at 11. I said that my second seems to be more cautious and just prefers crawling even though she's capable. With a snort she goes "PFF, she is just LAZY" and was so dismissive about it. I just snorted back and said "okay then." I never cared about my kids' milestones, unless it was on the "late" end of things in which case I brought it up to my doctor. She will walk when she walks. MIL doesn't want her to be crawling on her first birthday (dumb, I know). Anyway, it's been a day since then and I'm still miffed by her tone. Let's all be miffed together.

Kids and their weird food
My daughter makes great food choices (when she actually eats, but routine isn't the point here lol). She picks lots of veggies and healthy options luckily for snacks. But her obsession with sour cream is so weird lol. She went through a phase of toast with sour cream on it. At least I was able to change that to toast with cream cheese. Now it's "salad" which is solely made of spinach and sour cream. Nothing else at all. It could be worse so I just let her do her thing, but man it does not sound appealing lol. I can't judge anyway, as kids my siblings and I each had a condiment obsession. My brother put/s ketchup on absolutely everything. My sister used to eat straight butter. And I loved mayo sandwiches which was just mayonnaise on the cheap white bread specifically. All of us were weird lol. What were/are the oddball foods your kids or you as a kid loved?
