Fun or Harm?
Ever since he was 2, I’ve been sprinkling in old times phrases into regular conversation and when playing with my 4 year old son. I just thought it was funny to hear him say them back to me. Like when we’re doing a pillow fight, I say something like “why I outta…!” and then he would say it back when hitting me back. Putting him down for a nap just now, unbidden of anything, he lays back, closes his eyes and whispered “Now that’s the ticket…” I chuckled but what if he goes around saying stuff that gets him made fun of when he’s in middle school or beyond? On the one hand, it might make him a little different in a good way. On the other hand, he may come to resent me for making him the corny kid in class for my amusement. What do y’all think?Good clean fun or long term harm?

Crawling
Husband never crawled and had math/reading setbacks in grade school. MIL told me if baby doesn’t crawl it will be the same for her. Is this outdated advice?also when did your LO crawl? Since 7mo LO mastered sitting and hates tummy time. So she plays in sitting position most times. Did your baby crawl or skip it completely?

What kept you going during the last week(s) of pregnancy?
I'm 40 weeks pregnant today, and I'm struggling with the waiting, the hormones, needing to pee every five minutes, etc. This is my first baby, so I'm expecting him to take his time. What kept you going during the last days of your pregnancy? Some things on my list: 1. Eating Mini Eggs cakes 2. Rewatching Summer House from the beginning 3. Having a cheeky second cup of coffee

Befriend the video games. Bad-mouthing them, taking them away as punishment or hiding them will only hurt your relationship with your son. The best way to get your son on your side is to value what he values.” - @mlparentcoach https://t.co/Eqm1tRJokD https://t.co/PWJH5k5Ga4

Daughter Won’t Poop in the Toilet
She says when she sits on the toilet the poop won’t come out. I’m at my wits end. I think when I have some time off work I’m going to get rid of all the diapers and do the “oh crap” ? Method. Any tips? She is almost 4!

I'm the worst. Baby nails.
Ugh. I'm the worst. I did it. I clipped my baby's fingertip while trimming his nails. I usually use a file, I don't know what I was thinking. It bled. A lot. Used an antiseptic wipe on it, got it to stop bleeding, then ran it under tap water for a few seconds. It started bleeding again, so I wiped his fingertip with an antiseptic wipe and put a bandage on it to stop the bleeding (I'm supervising him closely on my lap so he doesn't put his hand in his mouth). 10 weeks old, has had his first DTAP vaccine. How worried should I be about tetnus? I'll call his pediatrician on Monday. I feel like the worst mother ever.

My 3 yo talks loudly to himself while playing. Whether we’re at home or outside.
My 3 year old talks loudly to himself while playing. Like whoaaahhh whoahhh oh nooo while pretending his car is jumping or something. Even when we’re outside sometimes. He is aware of the surroundings. So not fully engrossed. Every now and then he watches who is around. But always has a car with him. I am starting to grow concerned because the 3 year olds that I see around are generally quiet and more observant of their surroundings. He also says hi to random people that pass by.

8 mo baby cried through family photos 😭
Has this happened to anyone else? I just paid $200 for 15 min mini session and my 8 mo old still has some stranger danger and cried through the entire thing. She gets extra scared when people come up to her with the high pitched baby talk and unfortunately the photographer did just that and scared her before we even got started. This has only happened a couple times and I now wish I would have thought about giving her a heads up before meeting 😕 I don’t think we got even one good photo, I’m so sad! Especially because my daughter is such a happy baby 99% of the time. She literally rarely cries. I can’t even believe it lol *sigh*

My 6 week old likes laying with his stomach in the palm of my hand
New dad here. So I’ve read plenty of articles about different ways to hold a baby and am aware of the position where they lay on their belly on your forearm. But there’s times when that doesn’t quite do it for him and I found that letting him lay with his belly in my palm, my fingers supporting his chest, and his head supported by my other hand really calms him down when he’s having stomach pains/gas. He doesn’t seem to be in any discomfort and my hands are large enough to support his entire torso but I want to make sure that that much of his body weight being on his tummy isn’t too much. Sorry if this would be considered asking for medical advise. I’m more just curious if this is normal.
