I was totally wrong on what I imagined parenting to be like
I used to imagine that being a father would involve my son wanting to do the things I want to do. Sort of like having this little sidekick all the time... \*Insert Trump WRONG meme here\* It's doing all the things HE wants to do. So now it's time to go read the book we've already 1000 times for another 4 times in a row. Now I imagine there still might be a golden period where what I once believed may be the case, but then he will turn into a teenager and do this ME thing all over again, except without me. :(

During the pandemic, school districts across the country have reported drops in the number of homeless students — a result, many advocates say, of how hard it’s been to reach students who don’t have a stable place to live when school is remote. @Chalkbeat https://t.co/C5F2sISUFF

I just don't understand how moms are expected to just do everything
WITH NO FUCKING BREAKS. Like...I'm supposed to just always be on every day, no matter what. I get breaks to sleep, that's it. Even when it's my turn to sleep in, when I get up I immediately have to take over. I can't just sit and have a fucking coffee. Then gods fucking forbid I become frustrated or upset. My husband gets all weird about it then I feel like a shit mom. I just...how can I do this everyday with no time off and not eventually get upset?? Cook, clean, play, wash, change, make bottles over and over and over and fucking over. And I guess I better do it with a smile!!!! It's 3 under 3 right now and I know it'll get easier, but damn. Why can't I have a bad day without feeling guilty? Why can't my husband organize the fucking toys instead of kicking them in the corner? Why can't I just sit in peace for 5 fucking minutes without everything falling apart?? Sorry for the word vomit. Just had to get it out

Achievement unlocked, dinner, toy, pass out in car.
We did it guys, remember those nights where your parents would take you out to eat at whatever restaurant, you spend over an hour eating and then they go to stop by the store for something and you end up with a toy or ice cream and you fall asleep in the car? We did it. We took our 1 and 2 year old out last night to eat hibachi, it was past their usual bedtime so we were a bit worried but they loved it! And we had to stop by the store to get them new car seats so naturally they each got to pick out a toy, and they passed out in the car on the way home, I feel like this is a parenting achievement and it brought back all the good memories of my own parents and when they would do things like that. They were so good and had a blast and I feel like a seasoned parent now.
