In 1968, the USSR developed the FM-2 Phantom Mannequin to study the effects of cosmic radiation on the human body. The sculptors used the likeness of Yuri Gagarin, the first human to fly to space, for the robot's face. FM-2 flew around the moon during the Zond-7 mission in 1969.

As the lone occupant of Apollo 11’s Command Module, in 1969 he was officially the most isolated human there ever was, while in orbit over the Moon’s far side — 2,200 miles from Neil & Buzz, themselves bounding in the Sea of Tranquility Godspeed Michael Collins (1930 - 2021) https://t.co/MBGob3cuza

Aim high, and fly, fly again. The #MarsHelicopter's ambitious fourth flight didn't get off the ground, but the team is assessing the data and will aim to try again soon. We'll keep you posted. https://t.co/TNCdXWcKWE https://t.co/HDaF0fAILs

Is it possible to see Andromeda galaxy from an airplane?

Hello everyone, I’m curious if we could actually see the Andromeda galaxy from an airplane with the naked eye. One of my friends told me he saw what it seems to be a galaxy while on a flight from Edinburgh to Dubai. He didn’t take a picture at that time but he googled galaxies and showed me the Andromeda galaxy and believes that’s what he saw. Thank you for your help!
