What’s the last thing you googled involving your baby?

I googled why does my 8 month year-old keep smacking my face 😄

Baby is 1mo and I am absolutely done with BF/pumping.

How can I stop pumping/feeding? Is cold turkey the way or are there any tricks to stop? I asked other friends and their reply wasn’t advice, it was suggestions on how to breastfeed better. I already feel shitty enough that I’m cutting my little one off but I can’t take the pain on my boobs. Sorry for venting and thanks for reading.

Family members overheating baby

What is it with family members wanting to have babies wrapped in two thick blankets?! Not sure if this is just a Hispanic thing, but I noticed all the older adults are this way. I was eating for 10 minutes and I come back and my baby is all red and sweating. I immediately say something and their response “she’s cold”. Um no she’s freaking sweating! Im a FTM, but from what I read babies can overheat easily.

Short moms - What week of pregnancy did you have your first baby?

I have read that shorter women have shorter pregnancies, but I'm curious as to what your experience was!

Step son is a totally different kid when switching households.

Why does my step kid (8) display a much more mature behavior when he comes back from his dads? His speech is better, his attention span is longer, he actually stands still and well just displays a chill behavior. When he’s with us it’s like he has ADHD He acts like a 4 year old. He doesn’t misbehave but he is super hyperactive, impulsive, loud and well a little too much sometimes. It’s odd he becomes the younger brother to his younger brother who is 6 or even around other kids you get than him. Is this just a normal kid thing??

Canadian mums, where the heck do you shop for baby stuff?

Toys r us is closed.. no target.. Amazon selection is weak at best.. I feel like my only options are Hudsons Bay (super expensive), walmart or marketplace. We don't even have mercari where I live (BC). There's a few baby stores where I live but they are incredibly pricey. Any online stores I don't know about that are Canadian based? I keep getting hit with duties everytime I order from the US.

my husband told me he thinks it's weird that babies yawn

I asked why and he says 'I don't know.. it's like they are tiny people or something...' Sir.. 😮‍💨

"He just didn't want to wake up from his nap"

Left toddler napping at my moms house today while I went shopping. Left her specific instructions to wake him at 3pm at the latest, because otherwise bedtime will be a mess. I called her at 3:45 to check how they were doing and she said "I'm still trying to wake him up, he's so sleepy he just doesn't want to get up!" OH MY GOD JUST PICK HIM UP AND FREAKING SHAKE HIM AWAKE JESUS CHRIST. Anyways, it's now 2 hours past his bedtime and he is still zooming around his bed. FUUUCK

My whole life, I have struggled with not feeling heard.

My parents never took anything that I said seriously. My husband has so much ADHD that he can’t focus on anything that I say for more than 1 minute. I have two neurodivergent kids. One can’t stop talking long enough to let anyone else speak. The other talks to quietly, but also never listens and rages out on everyone all the time. I am a teacher and obviously I have to repeat myself 5+ times for anyone to listen. I just want someone to listen. I dream of being married to someone who I can actually manage to hold their attention. I dream of a family that wants to hear what I am saying rather than just waiting until the next time that they can talk.

Nursing help please

First time mom here with a sweet 6 day old. Exclusively breastfeeding. Milk came in and baby seems to be doing well with it based on output. However today he didn’t nap besides 2 hours and then when he falls asleep on me after feeding. I feel he’s cluster feeding. Does this sound right? Also we try to feed them let him doze off on me but then we were told to burp him but then he wakes up and cries and I feed again. Same when we try to move him to bassinet. What do we do? I am supposed to just sit in bed all day with him attached and I can’t sleep? Husband soothes him 20 min but he wakes up and cries again. Please help.

Do sleep sacks improve sleep quality?

Sometimes I wonder if my baby would be happier in just jammies and the sleep sack is more for my peace of mind than anything else. I’d love to see some evidence about how sleep sacks impact sleep!

Please, does miralax ever end???

Someone please tell me there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. My then 10 month old was constipated and I tried all the home remedy’s. Believe me I’ve tried it, finally after nothing for eight days and only going with a suppository, she started refusing to poop I think cause last one hurt. She would just hold it for a week plus. Dr said miralax could be weeks, months, years even?! If I try to wean off she gets constipated. I feel like this never ending cycle cannot be good. Has anyone successfully weaned their baby off miralax, specifically one that seems to be a poop withholder?? Or is this our life now 😩

At what point did you take LO to the ER about their temp ?

At work and LO’s fever(?) is concerning me and Google isn’t giving me useful information on what temps I should be worried about .. i really need some useful advice/info and I know this is the place to go to get that Info: she is teething currently and I’m pretty sure her canine tooth is coming in , she started to feel hot last night and took her temp , gave Motrin (1.25mL) , checked it this morning , and gave another dose (1.25mL again). It lowered it this morning but now her temp has gone up again and she’s due for another dose of Motrin , I’m so concerned because I don’t want her to overheat

Encouraging baby to crawl

We just went to our 9 month check up and the doctor was a little concerned our daughter isn’t making a whole lot of progress on the crawling front. She suggested we do more to encourage our baby to move, any tips from parents whose babies hate tummy time? . . . A few notes: - she does tummy time at home and daycare just hates it. She spends most of the time fussing or rolling onto her back. We still make her do at least 30 min a day but she focuses more on her frustration than moving. - she sits independently but can’t get into the position herself. - she doesn’t have much interest in standing, whether it is pulling herself up or with our help. - she scoots a little - she kicks up a storm - she doesn’t have older siblings to chase around but all the kids at daycare are now crawling (she is the youngest)

Feeling isolated

Anybody else feel like this whole motherhood experience is lonely? All my friends just disappeared on me and have blown me off enough times that I've given up. The women I have met in mom groups have been kind of cold. I really try to put myself out there but I'm just alone most of the time with my baby. Anyways just feeling bummed out on a beautiful day with nothing to do. Hope you are all having a better weekend.
