Child embarrassed of our house
I am a single mom of an 8 year old and we live in a very very affluent neighborhood. His friends have tennis courts, movie theaters and swimming pools. Our house is the size of their garage and it’s perfect for us but he’s extremely embarrassed and doesn’t want to have friends over because of it… which really heartbreaks me. I would love some advice

Is Sesame Street a good show for toddlers?
My 20 month old toddler has been slow to pick up words. She's only allowed 30 min of TV. She watched a SINGLE episode of Sesame Street and started saying "Elmo" like it's no big deal. She's never gotten unhappy when a TV show turned off, but bawled when the episode ended. Is this okay for toddlers to watch? It's not baby crack like cocomelon, is it? Edit: found this study from the early 2000s: "Kids who watched Sesame Street had higher grades in science and English, had higher total GPA, read more books, placed more value on achievement, and were rated as more creative, compared with their peers. Boys who watched Sesame Street in preschool were rated as less aggressive in high school; girls were more likely to participate in extracurricular art classes."

When did you feel “normal” again?
I’m 12 weeks postpartum with my first and it feels like I now inhabit the body of an 80 year old. My joints hurt. I’m exhausted (even though my baby is sleeping pretty decent). I feel so out of it all the time. I am getting tension headaches regularly. Please tell me when you started to feel like you again, or something that resembles normal.

Which of these two unsafe sleep options is the least unsafe for a newborn (1-2 weeks old)?
I know both options are bad, but which one is worse? 1) Parent napping in a chair, holding sleeping baby in a way that baby is unlikely to fall. 2) Baby alone in a small crib. Crib has an incline (head slightly raised), and has gaps between the bars wider than the baby's head. Baby is put down on their side to sleep and is covered by a loose blanket. Baby is watched over by people but they are distracted and not paying close attention.

Happy in-laws
Our daycare is closed today so I invited my in-laws to spend the day with babe (10 months). I work from home in an office upstairs so I can hear the three of them playing in the living room below. It warms my heart to hear how happy they are together singing, reading books and playing with toys. Parenthood isn't always easy, but today I'm thankful for our little "village".

Eczema!
Hi! So my son is turning 4 months old & since he was 2 months old, he’s developed eczema. It started off pretty normal looking but now it’s getting worse. He constantly scratches his head and legs because of it. I’ve tried Eucerin. I’ve tried hydroquinone cream. Ive tried coconut oil. I’ve also tried a more natural remedy using shea butter to keep him moisturized. I don’t have eczema so I’m also not sure how to really treat it. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.
