I wish I could fall asleep with my baby resting on my chest
She’s so sweet and so calm. Listening to her breathing on my chest is so soothing. Her warmth is the best hug in the world. All this comfort while being sleep deprived and I just want to hold her and drift off, but I can’t. She’s just 6 weeks old. It’s not safe and won’t be for a long while. The moment I feel the slightest bit of drowsiness I put her in the bassinet or pass her to my husband. If I know she’ll need me to comfort her for a while (she wants to be held 24/7) then I pump myself with caffeine, sit up, and keep the lights on. I understand the importance of not falling asleep with her in my arms, I just wish I could. I love her so much. I just want to snuggle her through the night.

The peak years of picky eating are between ages 2 and 6, as children start to want more autonomy. If you have a picky eater that means your child is moving through a typical developmental stage, says @pediRD. @sfnords @onparenting https://t.co/jYmkW0pyAz

There are no louder sounds than literally any sound your husband makes after you've put the baby down for a nap.
That's it. That's the post. Happy Wednesday mamas.

Pop songs you sing to you baby?
When I am nursing him to sleep I use to sing to him and he seems to love it. What pop songs, not written for babies, you like to sing to your LO? Latelly I’m singing Your song (Elton John) and The Story (Brandi Carlile) because the lyrics speak to my feelings for my baby.

My baby is going to Kindergarten this Fall
Where did the time go? It feels like only yesterday I held her for the first time. They grow up so fast! She’s excited about going to “big kid school”. While the it’s hard to let go, I’m excited for this next chapter. I’m so proud of her ❤️

Am I in trouble if I'm annoyed by other people's children?
I've always been annoyed by children. The needless whining, the outbursts, the excess noise - it all drives me so crazy. Now I'm pregnant with my first (30+3) and these two kids that are in the break room at work with my coworker are actually "well behaved" by definition. Whiney, loud, up and down out of their seats while I'm trying to eat lunch in peace - but not misbehaving by any means. Maybe it's the lack of sleep I've been experiencing (2 hours a night for the past week, it's been glorious), but I want to cry I'm so frustrated, I just wanted a quiet lunch and maybe a short nap. So it got me thinking - Am I in trouble when my own child comes? Is this how I'm going to feel for their entire childhood? And if I'm having these feelings at this point in the game, am I even remotely ready to be a mom?

Positive parenting stories
Hi! First time mom here, 21. I see a lot of negative stories/venting on here, I totally understand we all need places to vent! But can I hear some positive newborn/after birth stories? Maybe your favorite part of being a mom or dad? Anything! I am due in 4 weeks and I’m getting really eager! The negative stories make me nervous though, so let’s hear some positivity I can think about while I make it these last 4 weeks and after!

He is changing and growing so I’m not trying to force anything on him. But the physical affection can still be present every day to make sure he is surviving, maintaining, and hopefully growing even through this tricky part of life. @sheryl_gould https://t.co/m5HnZnBJj7

I don’t think my husband realizes how hard it is for me to put our baby to sleep
Our LO Will fall asleep quite easily in his arms if certain conditions are met (mainly fed and diaper changed) so he thinks it should be the same for me. No sir, unfortunately I am the boobie buffet and a comfort blanket all wrapped up in one with an irresistible scent that drives our baby wild 🥲 You try falling asleep surrounded by the most delicious food and the warmest blanket but have it just out of your reach and see if you don’t cry about it 😂
