Oh please don't let me be raising a bully.
Walk about 20 minutes to the park. He walks in, climbs one structure and slides down, runs across the area, finds the smallest child there climbing the stairs I mean, my 3 year old is like 42 inches tall and 46 pounds. He's got all the other kids his age beat in size. But he walked up to this baby, looked like he was maybe 18 months, and pushed him off the bottom step. I watched the little boy's head *bounce* off that rubber matting they put in some playgrounds. God, I'm so embarrassed. I tried to get my child to apologize, but he wouldn't, say there and started crying like *he* was the victim instead of this child he is literally twice as big as. I have no idea how to correct this. I don't even know where he got it in his head that doing stuff like that was okay. I felt like the right thing to do today was to just leave the park. The way the other mothers looked at me...I tried to apologize for my son, but the boy's mother just turned away. I didn't force it, we just left.

Tip: Be careful while installing Slip’n’Slides this year!
I know Slip’n’Slides are a blast. I love them. Just be careful when you all install them. When I was a kid there was a piece of glass in the yard my dad didn’t see. On my first slide, it sliced my toe wide open. I don’t want to imagine if the glass happened to be right in the middle of the plastic. It would have split my stomach wide open. Always check your yard for glass or nails when you put up the Slip’N’Slide.

Give me your favorite girl names…
We’re having another girl. I’m ignoring the naming part because I am and I can. On the joint “okay” list is Lauren, Lillian, Grace and Sophia (no particular order). None of them have settled as “it.” So, fine ladies of Reddit, give me your favorite girls names. Just whatever strikes your fancy.

Question about relationship with grandparents
My kids have always had a very close relationship with their grandparents. Their current ages are 9, 12, 16, and 18. My 12 year old son wore nail polish to their house a few weeks ago. Never heard a word from them after the fact. Grandma called me the other day and said that they are not comfortable with boys wearing nail polish and asked me to have him remove it when we visit. (Grandma & Grandpa are homophobic and have said to me that they think we are trying to make him gay.) Grandpa said they should be able to be comfortable in their own house and doesn’t understand why this request bothers my husband and me. He also said this is a good “learning lesson” for my son. Side note, 16 year old daughter is still figuring out her gender identity but she knows she is not straight, nor transgender. I know my thoughts and how we will likely handle this. I’m just curious, am I wrong to be upset by this request?

Newborn sleep?
Hi everyone, FTM with a 5 day old. I’m wondering if anyone has advice on how to extend sleep in a bassinet? Our baby will sleep for hours and hours if he’s on one of us (or literally any warm human) but we can’t get more than hour and a half to 2 hour stretches in the bassinet (we have a snoo). Our pediatrician said feeding him every 2-4 hours is good and he’s been cleared to sleep 4 already since he gained back his birth weight so quickly. It may seem like a silly question but my husband has to go back to work in a week so I’m just trying to get on top of anything I can be doing better. Thank you in advance!

I bought a weighted blanket and it actually changed my life.
I bought a weighted blanket after giving birth to my daughter (she's 2 now) and it helps me sleep so well. I'm actually shocked at how well this works for me.

Seriously how does anyone take an infant/toddler out to eat?
My almost 1 year old is a delight, but she’s a handful. She isn’t that mobile yet so she’s just sort of loud and frustrated all the time but particularly when we aren’t moving or walking or doing something. We take her to stores and parks and on trips, but I cannot imagine taking her to a restaurant or cafe. I see people with their babies sitting calmly inside at restaurants and I’m just like how???!
