Like, it’s no big deal if she doesn’t fall asleep unless she is in my arms, right?

Hi all! I am lucky enough to be a first time SAHM and have a lil’ four month old girl who I am just crazy about. I’ve always held her to sleep and then will sometimes hold her for her entire nap or set her down in a crib (with a maybe 70% success rate in that specifically). Am I setting myself up for failure in the future? I love the closeness and it isn’t a problem now, but someday she will need to put herself down for naps, etc. When is the optimal time to work on that? I am strictly agains crying it out and if she doesn’t sleep we all have a Bad Day. Any science based parenting info specifically about holding vs setting down for sleep times is greatly appreciated! Thank you all!

Kids Exposing Penis At Son's School

My son is in grade 2, and he told me tonight that there are kids exposing themselves and giving other kids baseball cards for looking at their privates. Is this anywhere in the realm of normal behaviour at kids schools? Have other parents experienced this? I want to make sure I'm not over reacting before I contact the school ​ Thanks reddit

Oh how I want to call out my 16yo!

I like wearing jeans, graphic t's and cardigans. Yes, like Kurt Cobain. It's comfortable and suits me just fine. Some of my stuff is older than my son. I adore the holes in my clothes. My 16yo son dresses rather preppy like Abercrombie and Fitch. Very neat and proper. Irons and starches his clothes. My 16yo thinks I dress "lame." I asked him what's wrong with my clothes and he says I dress like a "homeless" person and wouldn't be caught dead wearing what I wear. The other day, I couldn't find my beloved vintage grey knit cardigan. Some how it ended up back in my closet. Last night I was looking at my son's IG page and the little fucker is wearing my cardigan in a bunch a pictures he took with his friends. Missing button and all. All I want to do is leave a comment about what a nice sweater he has and where did he get it. I don't get many legit chances to embarrass him.

Potty Training - maybe too early?

Hi All, My wife just started potty training our daughter who is about 2.5 years old (30 months). We've had really limited success, in about 2 days she's really only had one success peeing in her little potty, all the others have been accidents. We're worried that maybe we've started to soon and we're curious if what we're experiencing is'normal' the first few days with this many accidents or if maybe she's just not ready yet. Any help is appreciated!

My daughter is depressed and I'm losing my mind

hey guys, My 12yo daughter is depressed. The pandemic in my country is out of control and I don't know when she will back to her normal life. I don't know what to do!! She's taking her medicines, and I take her to a therapist once a month. Today, I found out she was hurting herself, punching the wall. I can't see her so sad, so anxious... So different. I'm always by her side, and I'll always be, but I don't know how can I turn the things better for her, I'm so scared. I can't sleep thinking in tragedies. she's my best friend, the best thing I have in my life, I need some advice from someone who knows what I'm talking about. please.

My mother is a meth addict

And she has been for the last 35 years. No matter how much I wish for it, I’ll never have a mom I can call with anything, a mom to depend on, to have a rational conversation with. And it hurts. I’m in my 30s now with children of my own, and it hurts. Will she ever get clean? Maybe? Probably not. My daughter FaceTimed her the other day and later asked me why her grandma’s face always twitches. That’s it.
