Did your significant other take time off work when baby was born?

And if they did, did they stay home all day with you and baby pretty much? My husband took off three weeks of work when baby came. He has been so helpful in a lot of ways but many of the days he is out a lot. He will go for a long bike ride, then go to the gym then go visit his sister who is in for the whole summer from out of town. Sometimes he will be gone for four hours. I don’t expect him to sit at home all day long but him being gone for 4 hours is difficult for me, and I feel like this time is supposed to be us bonding with the baby and helping each other out. He is getting frustrated having to be indoors all day ( it’s been too hot to take baby outside) but I mean it’s not like I want to sit inside all day either, but I have to. It’s like he’s not wanting to make lifestyle sacrifices now that we have a newborn.

My daughter leaves for college on July 29th

Well rather she moves to Oregon on July 20th and holy shit I'm not ready, man. I'm not ready at all. Her mother passed away from complications with childbirth, and never got to see our baby grow. Now it's time for her to go and start the next phase of her life and it hurts a little bit. She seems nervous, but she still seems excited. I feel that I'm definitely more nervous than she is, and I'm not even sure why. I'm not sure why I'm this worried, Abt everything that I know will be ok. "Will she be able to get enough sleep enough at night." "Will she be to anxious" "Will she eat right" And all the shit like that. I know it's mostly stuff that I shouldn't worry about, But everything worries the ever loving fuck out of me. My little girl isn't so little anymore man, it kinda sucks.

"Crying is a late stage hunger cue"

My baby would like to have a word with anyone that says this. She'll be happily talking and taking in her surroundings then suddenly start wailing because she wants a boob. It was really validating when she did this at our checkup yesterday and even the midwife commented on her going 0-60 with no warning. She does plenty of things that are considered early cues but almost never because she's hungry. They're more likely because she's gassy or wants her soother. If I offer a breast or bottle she will scream at me SO angrily if I guessed wrong.

Do sahp nap often?

My son 5, was sick last night. A temp of 100.0, throwing up, all the symptoms of heat exhaustion but not stroke. I cared for him all evening, cleaning him up when he threw up all over himself. He was down to 99.3 when he went to bed at 8. Today I 38, told husband 33, please text me updates about our son. He didn't. So at 10am I started texting, asking for an update. An hour later I haven't heard anything yet. So for my lunch break I drive home to check on them. They are fine. Husband was asleep for at least an hour in the bedroom. With kiddo alone in the front room. I am livid. He left our son who was super sick last, alone for at least an hour to sleep?! Am I wrong to be angry with him? Is it normal to go nap when you are the only adult home and your kid was sick as heck the night before?? Help me before I shut his phone off.

Huge plot hole in S1:E23 of Bluey

In this episode, the characters spend almost the whole episode arguing about who would be what role in the imaginary shop. At least three characters wanted to be the shopkeeper so they could scan (“doot”) items being purchased. When they finally decide roles and play shop, the shopkeeper DOESN’T DOOT the leash being purchased. And no other character even called her out on this egregious oversight? So unrealistic. Can’t believe it. Anyway, on to episode 24, it’s not going to watch itself.

Casually invited to the neighbor’s birthday party tomorrow. Gift?

My neighbor and I bumped into each other outside just now and she casually invited our family to her 3 year old’s birthday party tomorrow. She said it was going to be just a small get together. I asked if we could bring anything and she suggested maybe a side, which I’m happy to do. Do we also bring a gift? They moved in recently and we’ve only chatted a couple of times, and I’ve never met her daughter.

I feel like I’m nursing a grown man….

Just so ready for child to be weaned… he’s 16 months and he nurses so aggressively, pinching and pulling and twisting. He will try to stand on me and push his head down into my breast as hard as he can while slapping me and breastfeeding. It’s fucking unbearable! Little does he know today is the last day and I am closing up shop tomorrow! Luckily I’ve weaned another boob monster before so I know it’s not so bad.

Caught having sex by 10yo girl
