My husband is a fucking idiot.

So, my 19mo pulled down her diaper, squatted down and said she needed to poop. Great!! I grabbed her, ran to the bathroom and balanced her on the toilet where she peed! Okay, cool. I wasn't really looking to potty train until after we went on vacation next month but fuck it. Strike while the iron is hot, am I right? Proceeded to buy one of those little ring thins that fits over our toilet seat. She uses it once or twice without any success but that's okay, we'll get there. Then this morning my idiot husband PUTS IT ON HER HEAD AND SAYS HAT. First that's gross as fuck. Secondly, now she thinks its a hat and won't sit on it and tries to put it on her head. Like why, just WHY. I'm just so pissed off. Like, in home all freaking day with her, is going to be on me to potty train and 8 feel like giving up now and waiting until she hopefully forgets that he called it that but I doubt she will ever now at this point. How did I ever up married to a guy with absolutely no common sense???

Wife was offered a raise but she'll need to move to other state for a whole year, how this will ffect our 1 year 10 months old daughter?

Basically title, my wife applied for a promotion but this will imply her living on another state six hours away from here, we are wondering if this will have a negative effect on our daughter's mental health or something similar. My wife would be getting a 55% raise and alot of benefits so this is a big deal. Thanks in advance! edit: grammar

Screen schedules are a great idea with good intentions to help keep your tween off their device. In theory. But they don’t always work in practice. Luckily, there are other ways to manage screen time in the summer. Here are some great tips! https://t.co/C4ol7yVPDa https://t.co/ia2nQzuZhA

CAREER ORIENTED TO SAHM

are there any other moms out there that were very career driven and used to say pre kids they would never be a SAHM? Pre - Baby I was very career driven, I have 2 bachelors degree and was working towards my masters and doctorate. I never thought of myself as being a SAHM. Now I have a 5 month old baby that I have been staying home with the past 5 months and I love being a stay at home mom. I feel like I would be wasting my education or not have my own sense of independence if I continue staying home, but I am truly just extremely happy and financially we are more than comfortable on just my husbands salary. I guess the point of this post is any other moms out there like this? Did you end up regret staying home and not going back to work?

How do you put two kids to bed at different times?

Maybe this is a dumb question, but I've only ever been a mom to one. She is turning five soon, and we are expecting a baby about a month after her birthday. I know that newborn days are a fog and he will sleep whenever for the first few months, but after that, how do you manage two different bedtime routines?

How to get your kid ready for daycare?

Is it reasonable to expect a 4-year-old to get themselves dressed and brush their own teeth in the morning to be ready for daycare, or do you help them?

Toddler refuses to take a sippy cup. Advice?

I have a 13-month-old son who tends to be pretty stubborn. My wife and I have been trying for several months now to get him to take a sippy cup but he absolutely refuses. We currently have a babysitter who has a degree in early childhood education and tries throughout the day to get him to take the sippy cup. He may drink only an ounce, then refuses the cup. Our babysitter's last day will be 6/30 and we are putting our son into daycare on 7/6. Unfortunately, the daycare requires for him to only use a sippy cup. My wife and I have spent so much money on all sorts of cups and he won't use any of them (straw cups, soft spout cups, hard spout cups, no spout, etc.). He also has some food texture issues, so we aren't sure if the two are related. We have a week and a half to get him used to sippy cups or he'll be miserable at daycare. Does anyone have any advice on how to quickly get a child to accept a sippy cup?

What do you do when your child makes a friend at the park?

My daughter [3] is a social butterfly and makes friends everywhere we go, but she can never keep those friends because we rarely see them again. I am not nearly as extroverted as she is and I feel like it would be strange to find the other child's parent and ask to exchange numbers. Is this a thing? Or does everyone just hope that they'll run into the family again in the future? She always cries about missing her friends and I would like for her to have a consistent friend to play with.

Would you let someone trying to harm you around your child?

Hey Reddit, long story short , my daughter’s father girlfriend/ex whatever they got going on tried to fight me . Of what she says he lives with her , we have been co-parenting for awhile, but I am all about protecting my child , because if she were to put her hands on me there isn’t any telling if she would do anything to my daughter, would It be bad for me to keep her away until he gets his own place ?

Toddler is biting at daycare suddenly

My son (2) bit a kid yesterday out of excitement. The teacher said they were dancing and he got really happy and turned to the kid next to him and bit their cheek. Not hard enough to break skin and the teacher intervened right away. After that he was surprised and very quiet until lunch. Today I got a call that he was standing in line to wash his hands and was absent mindedly biting his own arm. Not hard enough to break skin but did leave marks. She caught him and asked him to stop, moved him up in line and after he washed his hands he was fine. The teacher said it’s out of character and isn’t concerned, but twice in a row? Sometimes he does bite at home but I always stop, redirect and it’s over. Should I be concerned here?
