Is it weird that I enjoy a day off from my newborn?
I was telling another woman who had a baby with her that I was enjoying my lunch break from jury duty because it gave me a day off from my 8-week-old, and she said, “Eight weeks? Really?” And then walked away. Is it not normal to enjoy being away from my newborn for a few hours? Is it me?

Society rant
My husband took both kids(2yo and 9mo) to the store today and got complimented by a lady that said he was super dad. Happy that he got a compliment because it’s not easy. But that might be the 2nd or 3rd time he’s taken both kids to the store by himself. I’ve taken them on day trips that is a 2 hr drive one way and to the store, the park, on walks, etc and not once been told that from a stranger.

Child development experts partly blame the isolation and stress associated with the COVID-19 era for developmental delays but note it isn't too late to help many pandemic babies catch up. Early is the operative word in early intervention. @aliaemily https://t.co/e8gKbvhQBH

When can you relax and enjoy yourself in public with your baby?
When I am out with my 12MO I feel like I am just on high alert trying to avoid a tantrum or him getting fussy and loud and upset. Usually snacks or keeping him moving works. I can’t imagine taking him to a restaurant and either of us actually enjoying the experience. I’m kind of in survival mode and just doing what I can to get through the experience with the least amount of crying and fussing. I don’t like it being this way but I am just naturally highly strung and he is fussier when he is around me. I mainly want to avoid subjecting the people around me to the crying. When can you relax slightly and stop feeling at the whim of your child’s behaviour when you’re out in public? And does anyone have any tips or maybe advice about shifting my perspective on this?

Out of the house w. a newborn- how long to wait?
My due date is coming up and I've had a hard time coming up with a consensus or scientific guidelines on this- how soon should I be comfortable leaving the house with Baby? To visit family, go to the grocery store, go on an airplane, visit groups like church, etc. I have maternity leave so I can stay home for some time but are we talking 1-2 weeks? 1-2 months? Any advice and guidelines are appreciated!

Scheduled naps or go with the flow?
Just wondering what everyone does. I know it’s a personal preference and since we can’t post polls I was wondering whether scheduled naps and bedtime work for you and your baby, or whether you go with the flow and follow baby’s cues? If you go with the flow, do you have varying number of naps in the day? Or is it always the same number of naps?

Board game storage ideas?
Okay bromos, you're all super smart and I always see great mom hacks from you guys so I'm hoping you can give me some ideas here. We have 25 million board games that are shoved precariously in the top of the kids' closet. The ONLY time big kid wants to play a board game is when little kid is sleeping in their room. And I need to keep the games out of reach somehow so we don't constantly have board game pieces all over the house. We also have a pretty small house with not a lot of extra storage. How do you guys keep your games organized and out of reach?
