What are your must have baby books?
Im looking for some more (non religious) books to add to the baby library. Ive got the essentials like goodnight moon and the very hungry catterpillar, the very busy spider, thats not my dinosaur and a bunch of doctor seuss, and i just ordered the giving tree and clyde monster, but im looking to expand. What are your favorites? As long as it doesn't have anything about god or saying your prayers and isnt one of those anti lgbt books im open to anything.

I just did a mom fail and am embarrassed beyond belief
My daughters being a butthead and keeps putting off the lunch I made for her. She has a tendency to do that and then whines if it’s cold later. So I go to her in the livingroom and the following happened Me: “Your lunch is getting cold, go eat” Daughter: “in a bit” Me: “No, now” Daughter: Getting uppity “Mom, just give me a sec!” Me: “I’ve given you plenty of secs!” We both stop and stare at each other wide eyed. She then goes “that sounded like you said…..” I cut her off and go in a whisper “yeah I know what that sounded like…not one more word…” She nodded and went to go eat. I’m in the meantime sitting in the bathroom hiding from myself. Pretty sure my living room window was wide open and the neighbors are out

Newborn sleep
Bb is 6 weeks old. Barely gives us an hour stretch at a time. We follow every tip and trick from taking cara babies and she can easily be put back asleep but will not stay asleep. She’s not gassy, hungry… just wants to be held. I’m exclusively pumping and she gets 3.5oz every 3 hrs during the day. this mama is going crazy. It’s a good night when we get 2-3 hour stretches which I assumed was the norm… not 45 mins-1 hr! We follow a flexible routine of eat play sleep during the day and are mindful of sleepy cues and wake windows. We have a night time routine. Help is appreciated lol since it feels like everyone’s babe is sleeping better than ours at this point 😵💫

Question for parents who don’t track anything and just vibe with their baby…
How do you do it? 😅 My life is miserable. I don’t leave the house often and rarely even allow visitors because I don’t want to mess up our nap routine. I stress all day from the moment I wake up about bedtime. “Will his second nap end on time for the 3rd one to end on time so bedtime won’t get messed up?” It’s not even like this strict schedule is rewarding me, I’m still dealing with multiple night wakings and early mornings. I just don’t know how to let that shit go. I’m stopping breastfeeding in a few weeks so I can start taking some medication to help with my anxiety so maybe that will help? 🫠

Do 3 month olds like sitting in an upright position?
my son is 3 1/2 months although hes a bit bigger than most kids his age( i think, but hes about 15 pounds and seems tall for his age) anyways this guy hates lying down, when we lay him flat or slightly elevated he screams until someone picks him up and puts him in an upright position. I used to hold him in my arms and feed him which he was fine with until about a few days ago. if he doesnt start crying he'll start talking in his baby language really loudly until someone puts him in an upright position. Its getting kind of annoying because holding him this way is really starting to take a toll on my back, is this normal?

Told my 11y/o he needs to wait until the weekend to buy more treats with his allowance..
He then proceeds to make homemade strawberry ice cream with the KitchenAid mixer… I gotta admit, it was delicious. He may think he’s “won”, but now that I know what he is capable of I see a lot less cooking in my future…

Advice for 2mo appointment?
Hello everyone! We have our 2 month appointment tomorrow where my daughter will get a panel of vaccines. I've heard it can be pretty rough on a baby, do you have any advice you can offer for during and/or after the appointment? TIA!

Tell me about your experience (or lack of) with family meal time.
What was your experience growing up, and how do you do family meals and incorporate your LO now? My family didn’t do them much so I’m just looking for stories of what other people do/have done and what they like or don’t like.

Is it okay to postpone potty training?
Hi! I’m a mum of a two and a half years old toddler. I was planning on potty training him during the summer break before I start him on daycare next year but I kind of feel overwhelmed to do it. I didn’t even do any reading on the subject. I believe this avoidance is due to the fact that my child DOES NOT like taking showers, even a mention of bathrooms makes him throw very loud tantrums (with the whole screaming and crying package). The second reason is that I’m moving to another city in a couple of weeks, and I also plan to file for divorce when I settle there. I’m not sure me if son will be able to manage all these changes at once, I also I’m afraid of doing this whole process alone with no support from a spouse or a family member. Thoughts? Thanks in advance Ps. All tips to handle the disaster of taking showers are appreciated.

Delayed echolalia stories?
My 3yr 3m old toddler echoes phrases from books, TV, and stuff he has heard. He does so sometimes in a functional way and sometimes not. He starts speech therapy next week, but I am not sure what to expect in terms of a transition to functional speech. Has anyone else's kids had delayed echolalia? Did they ever develop more functional speech (either using scripts more appropriately for the context, or developing their own sentences/language)? What were some of the most effective things you did to help them? I am trying to keep my expectations realistic, but I have never wanted a crystal ball as badly as I do right now. I've gone down many an internet rabbit hole, but cannot find any articles about the typical timelines for overcoming delayed echolalia.
