Ready to put my fist through the wall

Is anybody else prisoner and slave to a tiny adorable tyrant? As much as I love my 3yo, please, please take your nap. Fuck. He will not consistently nap anymore and not getting that break is stirring up a rage inside me. It's not like I want to sip cocktails and sun bathe while he naps. I'm trying to clean toliet and shit. But that's too much too hope for. Life sucks and then you die.

Does anyone regret giving their baby their husband's last name?

When I married my husband, I took his last name. It was a bit begrudgingly on my part, but I did it because we planned to have kids and I wanted us all to have the same last name. My husband's last name is long, as is my maiden name, so hyphenating would have been really awkward. So my maiden name was tossed and my daughter got my husband's name. Now that my daughter is born, I'm more and more feeling like my old identity is slipping away into nothingness. I wish I'd worked my last name into hers so that it can survive another generation. Still, I keep catching myself thinking about trying to rename my daughter so that I put my maiden name in as a second middle name for her. It'd basically be silent and not used except on forms, but it would be significant to me. Just wondering if anyone has felt the same way?

Disney/Disney Store Can Kiss My Ass

Can someone explain to me how Disney/The Disney Store have the absolute gall to charge what they charge for their garbage? Granted, my daughter is happy with her Minnie Mouse house and little figures, but for $100+CAD, this toy is major ass. I realize that brands like Barbie, Disney etc have been bending parents over a barrel for decades, but this is absolute dogshite for the money. I feel like this is just a microcosmic example of the fact that products keep getting more expensive and cheaper in quality, but that's a discussion for another time.

Currently in court could use something to help

(If this isn't appropriate for this sub I'm sorry, also I'm on mobile) I am currently sitting in a courthouse, in trail with an ex and my abuser who is trying to move my son across the country. I have cried so much I think I'm dehydrated and it's only lunch-break. I could use some kind words or advice to read when it's over. Some information, my son is four, I had a mental crisis and was not with him for two years, I live with my parents in a run-down house, and I only get my son every other weekend.

Anyone else have a naked baby?

Ours lives in a diaper. I’ve read about the importance of skin to skin so I feel almost scared to put clothes in him, he also hates the process of it. We do a onesie when we go out, but we love both being topless all day (he’s 3 weeks). It’s hot here and I can’t imagine consistently wearing clothes until maybe November when it’s cold and he’s older. Anyone else like this?

Daycare Naps

Hi! My 4.5 month old started daycare two weeks ago and has not yet adapted to napping there. She gets about 1 - 1.5 hours of naps per day in around 20 minute intervals. I’ve read that 4 months olds should be getting around 4 hours of daytime sleep. Will getting so little daytime sleep five days a week be a detriment to her health or development? She gets about 11 hours of sleep at night, and has no issues taking longer naps on the weekends. I’m thinking about looking into hiring a nanny instead, but they’re so much more expensive.

“I never see the baby.” —Every grandma ever

Both our parents see the new baby several times a week, and both grandmothers comment about how they don’t see the baby enough. I know this is a natural reaction to wanting to soak up the newborn stage, but I’m over it. Extra points if they say it to the newborn passive aggressively (“I wish you’d come visit more!”). Anybody else out there experiencing this?

Am I overreacting

This older kid on the playground gave me the creeps. My toddler was following him around and when I tried to get the toddler to stop the older kid said it was fine. Only thing is he kept getting my toddler to follow him off the playground away from me. In the end I ended up making my toddler seat in the stroller and drink some water until the older kid disappeared. Idk he just gave me the creeps. Also I didn’t see the older kids adult around but his older like teens possibly. Maybe I’m overreacting, but I really don’t see why he would try and get my toddler to follow him away from me.
