Is it common sense to wash fruits/veggies??
My friend visited and was helping me with lunch. She started giving grapes to my kids without washing and seemed like it wasn’t something she was in the practice of doing. So now I wonder, should I have asked our in home daycare if they wash/how they prep their fruits and veggies for the kids? The thought never crossed my mind. Seems common sense to me but now I don’t know. He’s not there anymore so no sense asking now but I hope they were! It was a small in home, not licensed/subject to dcfs inspection or anything. The provider was also from another country. Maybe it varies by culture, I have no idea. I know this is a high-strung mom question. Thanks for bearing with me!

Bluey has ruined all other kids shows for us.
It’s just so good. Relatable, heartfelt and laugh out loud funny. Unfortunately our 2yo son prefers puppy paw patrol which is garbage in comparison. How do we bring him back from the dark side?

Boys learn better when they have a genuine relationship with their teacher, research shows. But developing relational skills can be hard when boys receive unhealthy cultural messages about how they should behave. @dfkris https://t.co/DZl5CBpHy8

Dropping debts
Y'all. We paid off my student loan debt FIVE YEARS early. I've been crying all weekend off and on. We have no credit card debt, and my in laws offered to cover our car payment for a YEAR. We live lean so we can do shit like this, but this is the first time it's actually felt like it's working. We can save for a down payment on a HOUSE. I just still can't believe it.

Christmas traditions
Tell me your Christmas traditions! FTM, LO will only be seven months old in December so I know she won't really have a clue what's going on, but we're trying to decide what things we'd like to do for her and as a family at the holiday each year. For example, my husband always got to open one gift on Christmas Eve (though it was always something boring lolol). We're not religious, just celebrating Christmas as an American holiday. Edit: Calculated babe's agree wrong oops lol. She'll be seven (coming up on eight) months old.

Baby rolling on stomach in her crib. HELP!
My 4.5 month old has started rolling over. Even though We always put her on her back but she always ends up on her stomach. Sometimes she can roll herself back, other times she doesn’t. When she can’t she cries pretty intensely. For her nap this morning I had to put her back onto her back about 4 times and the last time I did she was screaming cause she was so frustrated. I know this is a skill babies need to learn to do. Has anyone been through this before and have tips for how to get through it?

Errr!! Can not get my 5 year old to stop pooping on himself.
I'm seriously at witts end. Our son is 5. He's been potty trained since 3. He doesn't have diarrhea. He's intelligent. He just seems to truly not care if he poops or pees on himself. We're in quarantine. This just feels like the breaking point right now. I made him wash up his own underwear and body. I really don't know what else to do. He was supposed to start Kindergarten this week. I'm a nervous wreck that he's going to do it at school too.

"My mom died" pretend play just got a lot more interesting!
My daughter has a huge imagination and I love it! She's content playing with her dolls and barbies in her own little world. The last few weeks she's been hanging on the whole "My mom/dad died" or "I don't have a mom/dad". She's watching movies like Raya and the Last dragon and asks questions, which I answer honestly. I'm wondering what her teachers at school must think! She says it with such confidence, we have a book I got off Amazon that talks about death in a really great way. Just an odd thing I didn't see coming at the age of 4!

Something I want to low key brag about.
I am a single father of a 17yr old girl. She has lived with me for almost 2½ yrs full time. When she moved in full time she was used to eating potato chips, cookies, lots of prepackaged food at her mothers house. I don't keep anything of that nature in the house. I like to cook, so everything is made from scratch. She comes downstairs the other and tells me I haven't been this light since rhe eighth grade. We still eat ice cream atleast twice a week, but thats about it for sweets. I feel pretty good about teaching my teen a little better nutritional habits.
