Stop sharing my baby’s pictures with everyone
How difficult is it to NOT share my 15 week olds pictures and videos with everyone??? All my mother has to do is NOT forward all. I am so angry. My husband and I have shared our baby’s photos only with immediate family that is both grandparents and our siblings. My mother has taken the liberty to share his pictures with extended family by forwarding them to all despite telling her not to do so. My aunt died 4 months ago, she was my favourite person and my mother’s best friend. We all are still grieving her passing and my son’s birth was bitter sweet but that DOES NOT mean he’s some beacon of hope meant to be bring happiness to the whole world. I am so sorry if I sound incoherent I’m so mad right now.

My 5 YO is obsessed with google maps... Wondering if there are others like him?
So my 5 year old has been obsessed with google map (satellite mode) for months. He loves "flying" around discovering new streets. He loves giving them nicknames too. I'm kind of glad that he's into that instead of youtube (though he still needs his dose of Blippi now and then). Just curious if there are others like him.

LO is awake from 11:30 pm to 4:00 am and it's killing us
Hello, just gave birth July 31st, FTM, and we are getting used to not sleeping. During the day, LO (2-3 weeks old) schedule is fine: sleep 2-3 hrs, awake 1 - 2 hours... but, come 11:30 p.m, all this week, he is awake almost 5 hours!!!! We feed, change him, swaddle him, dim the lights, shush, rock him, play music... the works. Hours tick by. He is hungry again. Feed, change, re-swaddle, and the cycle starts all over again. He is ALMOST asleep but refuses to go down completely. Me and husband try taking turns, it almost broke him the first night. Almost broke me the second night. Last night I got him down at 4:00 am finally, only to hear him wake at 4:30, cuz he peed himself! HELP!!! Is it normal???

TIP: Tell overwhelmed kid: "Look 4 the stumbler"-the 1 little thing in ur way of success (Instead of "I can't do anything). CHUNK TASK smaller parts: Show how to fix obstacle-practice til he gets it. Then focus on rest. CONFIDENCE & GRIT increase. #Thrivers

Would you make an 11 year old pay for something they broke accidentally?
My daughter tells me her dad (my ex husband), is taking the cost of a bowl she accidentally broke out of her pocket money. It was a ~$20 kitchen bowl, nothing too fancy. She's not careless, she's not the sort of kid to break things often, or from being silly, she just managed to knock it and break it. She's upset because she says dad breaks stuff as often as she does, but when she does it, he gets really angry. I personally have accidentally broken a drinking glass and her bedside lamp in the last few weeks, which I replaced, and then the cat managed to knock the new lamp while doped up on painkillers, breaking it (only plastic lamps now)... So I don't get angry about that stuff, accidents happen. I just make sure she's responsible for cleaning it up with me. What do you guys think? Does it teach responsibility, or is occasional accidents just a fact of life that shouldn't be "punished"?

Months vs Years
Okay is it just me or does anyone else get annoyed when you ask someone how old their child is and they answer 39 months? Like what? After 24 months just switch to years. Children’s clothing doesn’t go 24months -30months (Or maybe they do and I just haven’t discovered that yet?) okay. Done with my mini rant. Continue on.

Fly away sippy cup
This AM, I took my son to the park to play before the heat and humidity would begin ramping up for the day. Driving down the highway, my car made a loud THUNK THUNK THUNK sound.. I glance in my rear mirror and see a flash of neon green appear and then hit the grill of the car behind me. I forgot my sons sippy cup on the roof of my car. I put it on the top of my car while I had rangled him into his car seat. Anyway, the car it hit behind me was a unmarked police car. I pulled over and the cop pulled over too. She signaled for me to wait. She jogged back down the highway to grab and return the sippy cup. We had a good laugh about it together. I’m soooo happy I didn’t get a ticket. She was super chill about it all. I had to share with someone.

Dumbest ways you've accidentally awoken your baby?
I'll start : - walking on tip toes to get my phone back from her room : big toe cracks LOUD - the oh so classic can't hold the sneeze, but also the dreaded fart - having the Hue light remote in my pocket, getting up to get her in her crib, *click* bright lights everywhere - stuck a note outside that says "don't press the bell, baby sleeps, thanks" aaaand... Pressing the tape right on the bell - phone on mute : check. But have I muted the sound of the medias ? NOPE. Tell me yours !
