What is something you see other parents doing religiously and you're like "damn... thats so much work. I could never do that."
For me, its keeping a JOURNAL of all feedings, changings, sleep schedule etc. Like damn. I WISH I could be that organized. I stopped keeping a schedule after the first WEEK. I can barely find time to do my dishes let alone write everything down in a journal. Yall are out here being super parents, and I don't even remember if I ate lunch today or not.

It is hoped that when this sentiment of love for all subjects can be aroused in children, people in general will become more human, and brutal wars will come to an end. -Montessori, #parentalsage

Self-distancing works because it helps kids feel a bit more removed from the negative emotions that they might feel when they have to stick with something hard that they're doing. And it reminds them of the strengths that they do have. @GreaterGoodSC https://t.co/8H5M8TPVZq

Even if you’re not planning to give feeding duty to anyone else, a breast pump is still worth having since expressing can bring pain relief if your breasts are engorged or swollen, and many mums express between feeds to boost their milk supply. https://t.co/hpxD8sUZ67

To understand the child as a creative power, to realise that he is psychologically different from us, to perceive that his need is different from ours is a step forward for all human aspirations and prepares a loftier level for social life. -Montessori, #parentalsage

In-laws keep dropping in unannounced
I just had my first child three weeks ago and my in laws have dropped by unannounced every week. Its absolutely exhausting and I almost snapped at them both today when I opened my door to another surprise from grandma and grandpa. I feel ungrateful as hell because they always come by with extra diapers or things for my LO but its always at the worst times. And I feel like I can't say anything without coming off as ass hole. I'm just lookin for at least 24 hours notice. Today I was mid feeding when they decided to drop by. I had to wait until they left again to breastfeed and at this point my LO was pissed and so was I. Last week same thing except I was sleeping. My partner is going to talk to them again but they've already have had a hard time sticking with boundaries and I doubt they'll be easier to deal with regarding their grandchild.

Daughter forgot that her project was due in today.
My daughter had a science project due today that she was supposed to working on all month. I asked if she started it and she said yes, doing it in her bedroom, and later when I asked if I could see it she said she doesn't want me to see it till it was presented. SHe lied, she did nothing, at 4:30am this morning I had to run to the 24/7 store to pick up her supplies as she came into my room saying she didn't do her project, and had to take some time off work to help her finish it, (I was supposed to go in early so I could leave early to see her present it) The worst part is she lied straight to my face, didn't even try to hide it, I am happy she came clean in the end but I wish she didn't lie at all.

Help me find the trashiest escapist book to read.
All right. Confession time. My current coping mechanism involves romance novels, but not like, historical regency stuff, or time travel, or even smutty vampires. No. I've dipped in to the deep end of Kindle Unlimited and have been filling my depths (see what I did there?) with the most ridiculous stuff I can find. It started innocently enough with Ice Planet Barbarians. Because a race of blue men with horns, an extra appendage (yeah, you know where it is located), and tails seemed fine. But it has progressed to a point where I'm reading such titles as "Kissing the Coronavirus." Please note, I in no way suggest that you read this book. It is the mother of all train wrecks. Anyway, my recommended reading keeps progressively weirder with each book I finish. So. I'm looking to continue this trend. Hit me with some recommendations guaranteed to make me howl with laughter and roll my eyes. I am apparently completely non discriminating when it comes to fine literature.

When do I tell my son who his father is?
My son is a toddler age and his biological father hasn't been present since my son was an infant. He only knows my husband as his father and calls him dad. Now I know it's going to come up entirely because my husband is a different race than my son. What age is appropriate to have that talk? I don't want anyone else to tell him.
