Am I the only one who washes baby at each change?
I read and hear a lot from people around that they wipe at diaper changes. I carry my baby to the sink, wash him with warm water, dry him really well and put another diaper on. I feel like wipes don’t do as good a job cleaning him as water does. Am I the only one? I can’t help second questioning myself after hearing so much about wipes. I tend to only use them when we are outside. Edit: when I say wash the baby I only mean the lower part of body.

How would you feel if your mom did this?
Was visiting my parents and my sister was there with her kids too… they all decided to go out on the boat. I’ve been dealing with anxiety ever since I’ve had my child who is a little over a year old now, FTM. Told my mom I don’t know if I’ll be able to go on the boat because of anxiety and I’ll be worried about my baby being so little on the boat even with a life jacket. She says “I didn’t expect you to come, we don’t want you to ruin our time if we are out in the middle of the river and we have to come back because you’re having anxiety…of course we’d love for you to come though.”…. Uh yeah I’m very hurt, seems like she doesn’t care at all that I worry about my baby’s safety or didn’t even ask if there was a way I could be more comfortable. Ugh

Parents and in-laws making a habit of just showing up (no text or call heads up) and letting themselves in our house after a single knock. Thoughts?
This is incessantly annoying, but before our LO we usually kept a pretty “open home” as generally inviting people. Now we keep our doors shut (not locked) and are suffering from our parents’ expectations that they can drop by at their convenience, whether my wife is breastfeeding or the baby has just gotten to sleep. Talking to them feels awkward but I feel like that’s the only option here.

How are people so skinny
I don’t understand, i see skinny people everywhere. I am overweight and almost a year post party. I work out average twice a week. Don’t eat out really (except special occasions) and cook my own food. I don’t want to workout everyday and be super strict about everything but it seems that’s the only way to be thin? I see so many thin people though and I wonder if they really are trying hard to be thin or is it just natural… I was thin once, before pregnancy.

What age would you watch these movies with your child?
I want to show my son a lot of my favorite movies, but I am curious what age you would consider appropriate for them. The movies in question are things like Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Marvel movies, things like that. If any parents could weigh in I'd be curious.

help me with smash cake ideas for my baby's "Spooky little ONE" birthday party
I posted this in another sub devoted to baking but I guess none of the 900 people who viewed it have any insight 🙄 I knew i should have come to bromos first. My baby girl turns 1 on October 21. Halloween is a big deal in this house so, of course, her theme will be "spooky little ONE". I have minimal experience decorating cakes. I want to bake her smash cake though. Spam me with ideas or tips! I was thinking a 6" round with a spider web would be cute! Pink buttercream with black web maybe? I think i could pull that off... Thank you in advanced! Lactation Lab testing kit
Hi, I’m curious if anyone has tried Lactation Lab to test for the nutritional values and metal content in breast milk, or whether such a test is even of value if breast milk quality is constantly changing based on a number of factors (our own nutrition, stress, illness, etc). I’m curious and I would love to see some data on what I’m feeding my baby boy and how I can adjust my diet to improve his. Any thoughts on this? [Edit: This gives more info on what I am referring to.](https://cnsi.ucla.edu/project/may-25-2022-lactation-lab-receives-fda-breakthrough-device-designation-for-breast-milk-testing-device-that-allows-mothers-to-test-for-key-nutritional-elements-in-their-milk%EF%BF%BC/)

Would like to have a second baby but scared of nausea
I think that I can go through childbirth and recovery once more but I was scarred by nausea in the first trimester to a point where I’m not sure if I can go through this again. I was able to work from home and I stayed in a separate room for over a month where I constantly laid in bed with an open window even when it was snowing (I felt nausea pretty much non stop even when I couldn’t smell anything). I could hardly say any food related words because just the thought of them would make me want to gag. I don’t know how I can survive this again with a child that will need care, cooking etc and potentially breastfeeding. Anyone had bad nausea while also looking after a child? How did you manage it?

How much ice cream is too much?
I currently have a LOT of flavors of ice cream in my freezer. At least 8 (some Haggen Dazs pints, some bigger containers). I have different moods and want different options! Especially since Covid, I feel more secure when I have a lot of treats available. My SO was mocking me because he is fine with vanilla and chocolate. Am I weird???

Anyone find their baby does better when out and about than just staying at home?
I feel like my 14 week old has always been better when going for walks and out and about. If I am at home all day she spends most of it crying so I feel like Im always having to be running around. I’ll go to the mall when I don’t need anything just to get out. It’s getting tiring, some days I just want to stay home all day :/

I'm having to hide whilst I eat dinner from my 9m old
My son is 9m, off the charts percentile wise, not yet walking but can climb onto chairs, the sofa and reach on counter tops/tables (also speed crawls through any open door) Somewhere along the line, he's learnt to watch us whilst we eat, sit with his mouth open until we let him have a bite. That's fine. BUT then when I take a bite (of my own dinner, that I'm already sharing!) why is this child screaming like I haven't given him a three course meal and a whole bottle of milk in the last hour? Anybody else relate?
