the women with the awful partner

Hey everyone, it's me the girl that asked about the postpartum garment, the women with the awful husband. I'm currently making a plan to leave out of state atleast for a little while. I have some really good support systems there so I will feel alot better about it.

UPDATE: In legal limbo and feeling very overwhelmed.

First, thank you so much to everyone who took the time to comment on my original post. I’m really struggling right now and it was validating to have all that support. I wanted to respond to each comment individually, but, unfortunately, things have taken a turn for the worse in the last ~24 hours and I haven’t had any free time. My ex, bankrolled by his enabling mother, is suing me for custody and child support. I like to think I have pretty compelling evidence, so I’m not necessarily scared or nervous to go to court, but it’s one more thing to add to my ridiculously long to-do list. I’m not looking forward to spending thousands on legal fees or hearing my ex try to make me the bad guy. I’m not looking forward to the bullshit his attorney is going to spout. I’m in the process of setting up consultations with attorneys. Please wish me luck.

Advice on how to chill out around baby-hogging MIL?

This weekend will be my second time visiting my MIL with my newborn son who is 2 weeks old. The first time was in the hospital where she held the baby for her entire hour long visit (not too bad because it was a short visit). I’m dreading this upcoming visit because when I had my first son I had a really, really bad experience with my MIL and feeling territorial about her hogging. I’m sure it was some form of PPA, along with her being really smothering/obsessive with the baby and me being a total pushover. Since then, we set boundaries and I had my husband gently handle her, but it took me a year and a half to feel at ease with visits, which I chalk up to baby becoming a restless toddler. All this to say, I’m so worried about being triggered and it sending me spiraling into another nearly 2 year pit of anxiety. I am taking Zoloft but I don’t feel it’s fully kicked in. (I started 3 days postpartum). Any advice? Especially, if you been through this before?

What is your opinion on screen time for a 2 year old??

Some people say 2 hours max some people say no screen time at all and some people say they let their toddler have unlimited screen time. I'm wondering the same thing about juice, some parents say no juice at all some parents say I give my kid half juice half water some people just give their kid Apple juice. Any advice on those two questions ☺️☺️.

27 yo husband - skid marks.

I mean, what the fuck. I remember it being really bad when we first got together (we were 16 and he was hard into drugs and I remember one of the things he’d get everytime he came down was diarrhea so I assumed it was that). Over the last 8 years since he’s been sober I never noticed it again but the last few months I’ve been noticing it again (no he’s not getting high again). How do I even?? Approach this??? It’s gross but also concerning, he’s one of those guys who refuses to see a doctor until he literally feels like he’s dying. Seriously, In the 10 years we’ve been together he’s been to a doctor 1 time. I don’t want to embarrass him but also want him to realize it’s not something to ignore.

Need serious help with 6yo not eating

I could really use some advice or thoughts with our 6yo. He basically just drinks chocolate milk for all meals. This was fine(ish) when he wasn’t in school all day but now that he is, we’ve noticed him starting to lose weight and it is so sad to see. Eating has always been a battle. We have tried eating therapy twice and had a bunch of specialists look at him but it’s all a mental game. The most we can get him to eat are Little Caesar breadsticks, spaghetti, and snacks like gold fish and Doritos. He refuses to eat chicken nuggets, pb&j s, Mac and cheese anything like any “normal” kid. When we do trick him to eat something, he usually gags and throws up. We are just starting to get super concerned about the weight loss and would love any other thoughts of things to try.

Use bar stools (with backs) for toddlers, for daily meals?

Anyone have experience raising young kids that didn’t have a convenient breakfast table? The houses I’m looking to buy tend to have a tall kitchen island, and a separate formal dining room (not immediately next to kitchen). Wondering if it’s realistic of us to sit in the separated dining room with all the milk refill, more toast, etc etc. Or use the island but have to place them up in their seats not to mention safety issue of being so high. OR demo the island and put in a standard kitchen table??

Blue light emission disruptive to development?

So, my husband sent me [this](https://www.sciencealert.com/early-puberty-in-girls-surged-in-the-pandemic-and-we-may-finally-know-why) article. Our baby is almost 3 months old and we typically watch TV while he feeds. We block off view from the TV so he can’t see it. But now after reading this article, my husband wants us to not have the TV on at all around him now because it emits blue light. I realize our baby is a boy and this study was done on girls but reckon being human, it still might pertain. Anyway, I was wondering if the existing research corroborates the study in this article and if it matters/makes a difference between directly looking at blue light vs being around it. We are also on our phones when rocking him to sleep so would we have to stop that too? I just don’t want to hinder his development or his sleep (though he sleeps pretty well despite being around TV and phone).

School meeting for my Autistic Son has my Anxiety in overdrive.

My son just started Kindergarten. We have our his first IEP meeting today with the principals, school psychologist, representatives from the school board, his teachers, Doctor and a person from childhood development where he was diagnosed. I am SO SO SO SO SO NERVOUS.... I know they are going to ask us what our goals are for our Son. Beyond getting an education. I'm drawing a blank and that is making my anxiety worse. I have extreme stage fright and I'm freaking out a bit. That's alot of people to talk infront of. I know we are all there to help my son. I'm scared if I clam up or strutter and not use the right wording they will look at me and think I don't care about goals for my Son's future or that I'm just an idiot. Can I ask maybe to get some examples of goal everyone had or does have for their ASD child? I want to write them down so I have something to read off of. I've been trying for an hour and they all just sound stupid to me. I would greatly appreciate the help.
