Do some babies sleep all night without sleep training?

I am just curious if there are babies (over 3 months) that just decide to sleep 10-11 hours without any sleep training/night weaning necessary. Is that a thing?

While there has been great flux in education lately, relationships—whether working in-person, virtually, or a mix of both—remain the cornerstone of effective teaching, learning, and leading. @FredEnde @ASCD https://t.co/1sAa8yKa0L

My baby fell off the bed

I feel so damn stupid. I hate myself. I hate myself. I hate myself. I’m crying and shaking as I type this. My 7 month old baby was napping on our bed. When she naps I tightly snug her with blankets and pillows around her. She always cries when she wakes up from her naps, I drop whatever I’m doing and go to her. We have a king size bed and she’s always in the middle. Today when I heard her cry I went to the room and she was on the floor, I guess she didn’t cry when she woke up from her nap this time and crawled off the bed. She can’t fully crawl yet but somehow got over those pillows. I just got off the phone with my husband, he yelled at me and called me a fucking dumbass. I deserved it. I hate myself. I failed my baby She’s not crying right now, the second I picked her up she calmed down and started being happy again. Still though, I hate myself

Opinion: Video parent-teacher-conferences are better than in-person and should stay

1. Much more time-efficient. My wife and I used to have to each take 90 minutes off of work for a 20 minute conference. Now, we don't even have to leave work unless we want to. 2. A video record can be made. It might help to have a record in complex situations. 3. It's less awkward to take notes when you are remote. 4. Less chance of someone "listening in" to a conference. We could totally hear the conference of the parents before us, while we waited outside the classroom, in the before-times. 5. Fewer safety/campus-security concerns with video-interactions. I can see some people arguing that they are less attentive to video than to in-person. But, I think that would be more than made up for having an additional parent or two at the conference who, otherwise, might not be able to make it.

Kids dad favors her over other three siblings??

My daughter is a year and a half, and she's got three siblings from her father's previous relationship. I believe that he favors her over the other three and it pisses me off. They range from 9 (girl), 6 (boy), and (5) boy. The other day, he brought the kids over to visit, then left out for an interview. I spent time with the kids which was no problem because I love those kids. When he came back from his interview, all three of them were standing at the door waiting to greet him, and he WALKED RIGHT BY THEM without saying a WORD, and went into the bedroom to pick up our daughter and cuddle with her!!! Like wtf?? He and their mother had a tumultuous relationship, so could that be playing into it?? It makes my stomach hurt to see him do behaviors like this. Their mother has also contacted him repeatedly about not seeing his kids anywhere near as often as he sees ours. What is his problem??

I've been up since 6a because that's when my 5 yr old started SCREAMING

3 out of 4 people in my house have a cold, my husband, my 1 1/2 yr old and myself, 5 yr old brought it home from school. I so started my period today with cramping and period poops. My 5 yr old woke up screaming bloody murder because his alarm clock ,which normally just turns green, got switched to sound and started going off. He woke up his brother who I'd been up with all night between feeding and him feeling sick. I'm fucking exhausted. I was actually up with the kids when my husband got home from work this morning (he works thirds). Dude had the balls to ask me if I was up for the day. I said NOPE, handed him the baby and tried to go back to bed. TRIED because THAT'S when my period started and was stuck either on the toilet or clutching my abdomen until husband took oldest to school at 7:45. Fuck today. It's frozen lasagna for dinner.

Hidden gems: children’s books?

I’m looking to add to my baby’s library. What are your book recommendations? We love board books, stories by local authors or small independent bookstores, story books with beautiful illustrations… In search of “hidden gems” aka books that aren’t well known. Please pass along your favorite titles! My recommendations: *Wherever You Go* (Pat Miller) and *Tiny Perfect Things* (M.H. Clark)

I feel like the worst mother in the world

In the past 5 days, I have yelled at my baby twice because he was crying. It’s not his fault, I’ve been frustrated due to exclusively pumping and being a new mom and everything. Every time, I would stop immediately and hug him and say I’m sorry. The first time, I rocked him in the rocking chair, and the second time, I took him for a walk. Both things are some of his favorite things to do. I feel so bad. This morning, I made a promise to him and me that I would put him in the wrap and take him for a walk. That way, we can both calm down. I still feel bad. He’s only 8 weeks old, he doesn’t deserve to be yelled at. What else can I do to help me to not get as frustrated? I love my boy and I don’t want to hurt him.

“Most boys who are struggling in school already secretly feel like failures. In many cases, they’ve given up…So, while it may seem counterintuitive, the single best thing you can do for a boy who is struggling in school is to stop focusing on academics.” https://t.co/ZTyz293HhB https://t.co/S73rr7fTiC

Our 5 year old daughter struggles to get dressed

My wife and I have no idea what else to do. Our 5 year old girl struggles to get dressed in the morning. She complains about her underwear, pants, sometime shirts and sneakers. We understand that some kids don't like to wear to pants because they feel funny against their skin, but all these pants out daughter has tried on and said "I like them" so we've bought them for her. We've tried everything from taking special items away from her, not letting her watch TV, putting her to bed earlier thinking she was tired. I honestly think she's doing it purposely. The reason I say this is because there's time she smiles and it makes me feel like she knows exactly what she's doing. We have no idea what other avenues to take. Has anyone else had these issues and if so, what did you do to help the situation? It's to the point now to where she's missing the bus in the morning because she's not ready.

I don’t know how much my son’s preschool teachers make

BUT 👏🏻 IT 👏🏻 IS 👏🏻 NOT 👏🏻 ENOUGH 👏🏻 Y’all. You guys. BroMos. My almost 4 year old’s preschool class has been closed all this week and cannot reopen until Tuesday. Which is fine since he’s dealing with strep throat and hand foot and mouth FOR THE SECOND TIME THIS MONTH!!!!! Plus a really nasty case of swimmer’s ear. I am about to lose my marbles guys. My husband and I have been alternating who stays home with him and we are not okay. All day EVERY DAY it’s “Mommy, watch this! Mommy, what’s this? Mommy, my turn! Mommy, snack! Why mommy? Bad bad mommy! Mommy turn it to paw patrol. Mommy I want to watch Mickey Mouse.” For days I’m at work, switch out Mommy for Daddy. Please send ya girl some hot chocolate and a lifetime movie. I’m not gonna make it.

fully vaxxed healthcare worker with mild case of covid isolating from preschooler and baby

**The title says it all. Looking for any words of support and encouragement. I'm on day 5 out of 10 and missing my babies. My husband just got a second negative PCR test so that's one positive thing.**
