If adults can help kids manage their emotions without using alcohol as a form of self-medication, we increase their chances of making it to adulthood substance-free. @dfkris @jesslahey https://t.co/KXdBY1JFnY

If your child's language is delayed, be a good speech & language model! Speak slowly, make eye contact, wait & listen! #languageacquisition

She has very little down time. No, she doesn’t get enough sleep. She eats en route and at strange times several days a week. She seems to always be “on.” But here's why all the craziness seems to make sense. #parenting @guilty_mama https://t.co/OlJqf00dpm

What’s an outfit you’ve been gifted you will never have your kid wear ever. This is one my mom got my daughter 🙄 to the donation pile it goes!

My 11 week old’s head looks like this from sleeping on one side. Will sleeping on the opposite side fix it? My country doesn’t offer helmets and I feel awful for letting it get so bad :(

“American schools, with a few exceptions, have become unfriendly to boys. Boys doing things that boys have always done—such as pointing fingers at each other saying ‘bang bang you’re dead.’ or doodling a sketch of a sword—now get into trouble at school.” https://t.co/uq775PhGCI https://t.co/YwAooW5hCL

Any other asian-american moms here?

I'm chinese and was born and raised in the midwest. I always perceive a lot of the parenting communities online as being like ultra white but I guess I could be wrong. But anyway, curious if any other asian moms are here. I'm probably not the only one.

Teachers struggle to be apolitical, but that overlooks inherent school design: "To say that curriculum has to be apolitical is a misunderstanding of the fact that education is a political space to begin with.” @szarlotka @hechingerreport https://t.co/rGkosrhC6R

I'm down because I'm not ready to go back to work (although it's a month away).

I don't return back until November 6th and it has me down. My job is flexible but still being away from the new baby sucks. I don't trust daycare strangers. I am hoping to find a work from home gig to make it better. A month will fly by so quickly. My leave now is already unpaid.i will need to make money again. I'm in a funk because I hope I can find a work from home job. My husband is making it work while I'm on leave.

This might be a silly question but...

What happens to your boobs as you wean? Do you have to keep pumping to prevent mastitis? And any tips on self-care to lessen the veiny appearance on the boobs? I know they’ll never look quite like my pre-pregnancy boobs but I’d at least like to tend to them to lessen the scarring.

Life after baby?

I’m (28F) currently 8 months pregnant and a FTM. This is my husband’s (37M) first baby as well. We are both independent people, we love to travel, and are both free spirits so to speak. I’m already having anxiety about what our lives are going to be like after the baby is born. It’s getting closer and closer to the due date and my mind is everywhere. I don’t know what to expect. I’m nervous, scared, excited. I feel so terrible saying this, but some days I get so caught up in everything, I wonder what the hell I was thinking and I start feeling guilty for thinking that way. Does anything help ease this? Any words of advice?
