My son was left out of the recognition
My 12-year-old son’s soccer team won 3rd place in their division. They were all really excited. For the medals, the coach gave a little speech about each of the kids and then gave them their medals. He completely skipped my kid. He did the kid next to him then the kid standing behind him. Never came back to him. At the end, he cheered all the kids and then rushed them over to do a photo. The other kids told him he skipped my kid and he just said “oh. I didn’t give you one? Here” and handed him the medal. No little speech. No recognition. My kid was totally gracious about it. Didn’t say anything. I tried to talk to him about it. He told me he was fine and knew he did a good job and had improved a lot over the season but he can be kind of stoic and issues come out later in his behavior when stuff affects him. How would you approach this? Let it go? Say something to my son again? Talk to the coach?

Kitty litter
Just a curious question, my husband with my past two pregnancies was very helpful with changing the litter box. Well now on my third one. He’s saying to just double mask and wash my hands. Is this okay? Can I do this safely without breathing in the toxins? I don’t have any n-95 masks just the cloth ones we’ve been wearing off and on this pandemic. I’m worried and willing to rehome my two cats. I just don’t want to put any risk on my baby.

Baby rave
So my wife and I have a 6 week old. He flails his arms around a lot when he's sleeping or getting himself to sleep. My wife and I have differing opinions on how fun it would be to get small glow sticks from the dollar store and sow them onto some mittens of his so when he goes to bed we could put the mits on and watch the baby rave. I can't be the only one who thinks baby rave would be awesome. *I am not seriously going to attach glow sticks to my baby but I'll be damned if I don't think it would be funny*

Baby doll to practice holding ?
Hey y’all, upcoming dad here who has little experience in holding and picking up a newborn/toddler. I did a lot of searching and cannot find a practice doll anywhere! There are dolls for children to play with but I want something that is accurate in weight etc. anyone have any ideas? I know this might sound silly but I really want to make sure I am well versed in this. I want to be the best dad. Thanks!

TV in Nursury School Program?
My son (28 months) is in a program for 2 year olds at an expensive private school that goes up to grade 8. The public school district in our neighborhood is not well rated so we wanted to get him involved in the school early. My wife volunteered to participate in a Halloween party for their class and this was one of the only times a parent was allowed to sit in. The program lasts 3 hours a day and she said they had the TV on for 90 min to 2 hours. Cocomelon and similar shows. Thoughts? We did not expect there to be any TV during school, let alone half the time or more. Edit: we have a parent teacher conference tomorrow with the teacher. We haven't raised it with the school yet. Trying to understand how common this is and what questions we should be asking. My inclination is to start with the teacher and escalate as needed.

Why wasn’t I told?
Several times over the past few weeks, our 7 month old has peed through his diaper, his clothes and crib sheets. I googled possible reasons and found out there’s special diapers for overnight sleep for 6-9 month olds because this is fairly common. How had I never heard of them?! I feel so dumb. Just makes me wonder what else I don’t know of that could be making life with a child easier.

No I'm...
Anyone have a child that doesn't understand pet names? For example we will tell our 3yr old daughter "Do you need help sweetie?" Her immediate response is, "No, I'm (name!)" She giggles when she corrects us. But she doesn't like it if we don't use her name. Though she will call her sister and toys by pet names when playing. I have never encountered this before.
