Anybody else have a “poop chair”?

We have an Ingenuity Baby Swing with a detachable swing chair. For whatever reason as soon as we put baby in it he poops. It’s so reliable that we call it the poop chair 😂 Just wondering if anyone else’s babes have something that can reliably make them poop.

Husband Wants to Be Able To Clock Off

After a doozy of an argument this AM about not completing his agreed upon morning responsibilities, it tumbled into a much larger argument in which he declared he wants to know when he can just be “off the clock.” Um. We have a three year old and a 10 month old. I let him know he can clock off when he gets his own place… you guys, am I crazy? We both have down time every night. But yea, we each have responsibilities we’ve agreed to do. There’s so much resentment built up at this point, I’m at a total loss.

What age were your kids able to go to sit-down restaurants and not annoy other diners?

I know it’s normal for my 1 year old to yell in public, throw things on the ground, etc. Just need reassurance that the light at the end of this tunnel is coming, and would love to know when!

Can I ask to bring my newborn with me to therapy?

I’ve been on a waitlist for therapy for months and I finally got a call yesterday reaching out to schedule an appointment! The only issue is I have a 3 week old who is EBF and fed on demand. I haven’t started pumping yet and don’t even know if she’d take a bottle even if I did. I’d really like to call the therapist back and get started but it’s just not realistic for me to leave my newborn with someone yet. Could I ask to bring her with me? Or would that be considered not okay? I obviously don’t want to put my potential therapist in an uncomfortable situation where she would have to tell me no to bringing my newborn. If I can’t bring her, how do moms realistically go to therapy? Do I just have to wait till she can take a bottle?

Son getting frustrated with infant and attempting to shut him up

Hello, Our son, 2 years and 3 months old, is not getting along with his younger brother, 6 months old. Anytime his little brother starts screaming (normal for his age), he gets visibly angry, yells "NO! STOP!", and charges at him and tries to scratch his face or make him stop. I've tried explaining to him that its normal and hes a baby, etc but I fear he is too young to understand me fully. If he is held, he yells back at the baby or tries to bite whoever is holding him. I am trying my best to get him to warm up to his little brother but he seems to not be having it. Our car rides are becoming unbearable screaming matches. Any tips and tricks to help deal with this would be greatly appreciated!

Give it to me straight daughter portraits in wedding dress

Okay so hopefully we’ve all seen the photo sessions of young daughters in your wedding dress, kind of a cute dress up opportunity . I’m so torn about it. In some ways I think it’s cute and my daughter loves pretty dresses. In some other ways I think it cool can be corny and may be something cringe 10 years or later down the road. Trying to decide what to do with my wedding dress.

Resources on delivering between 41-42 weeks?

Got into it today with my OB because there was no 'room in the schedule ' for my induction next week. I will be 41 weeks tomorrow. To my understanding, any induction past 42 weeks is considered medically necessary. I'm trying not to get too discouraged, but I would like to know of reputable resources or studies on outcomes for women with medical inductions vs. waiting for natural labor this late in the game. Anecdotal stories are welcome, too, from anyone who has experienced this!

Mixed Race Representation in Children’s Books?

Hi all! Expectant FTM over here with a penchant for collecting children’s books. I am white, my husband is black, and our little baby boy will be mixed, and it’s been such a bummer to see how white-washed it seems children’s books have remained. Do you have any recommendations for me? The book does not have to actually be about mixed race themes or families—I’m just looking more for diverse representation in the illustrations. I want my baby boy to see people who look like him from a young age. Thank you in advance! 💚

My 5 month old still wakes up every 2 hours throughout the night, like a newborn. I need some help!

My babys adjusted age is 3.5 months. He was born 7 weeks early. I see so many mom's post about their baby sleeping throughout the night and my boy NEVER sleeps more than 2 hours and wakes for feeding. We have a great schedule during the day & we lay down for bed between 7/7:30. He doesn't fully wake up until 6am, yet he's still up to eat every 2 like a newborn. What can I do? I have tried to not feed every time thinking he's wanting a bottle out of routine. Then I spend almost an hour rocking him back to sleep, then wakes up within 20 minutes just to eat. Most of the time it's only a few ounces. Hardly ever a full bottle. He hates pacifiers, he won't sleep unless swaddled. I'm going crazy not having slept more then a few hours at a time. Can anyone offer some advice?

Has life gotten harder since the pandemic or is it because we had twins in 2020?

There was a similar post recently about things feeling off. I feel like life got really hard since the pandemic, but we also had twins smack dab in the middle of the pandemic (July 2020). I also noticed friends and coworkers without young kids having a hard time too though. It almost feels like everyone is going through a “rough patch.” Is it just this huge life change of having toddler twins or is life harder?
