Husband abandoned his kids
My husband (by name not by law) was a SAHD for the last 5 years. Three weekends ago he was in the backyard and then he was just gone. He never came back. Didn’t take anything with him. After a week I did have some text conversations with him. He didn’t sound well. He insists his children are better off without him. I offered him belongings. He refused. His family has tried to offer him a place to stay, clothes, medical help, etc. He won’t see them either. I’m finally coming to terms that whatever has happened, I can’t fix it or change it. So how do I best support my children? He’s been there every single day as SAHD and now he’s just poof gone. What do I tell them? On the back end, is there anything I need to do legally? We’ve been together 10 years but are not legally married.

Crackling sound when baby breathes
My baby is 7 months old. He’s had a cold but it’s been under control. No fever and normal appetite. Only thing is that he’s been pretty congested and I’ve been using the nose frida to suck out the snot. Today I noticed that he’s been making a crackling sound when he breathes both in and out. He’s also coughing. Other than that he’s seems fine, maybe a little bit fussy because he’s bothered by the congestion but he’s playing and babbling like any other day. I called his dad (we’re separated) and he said I should take him in to get checked out to rule out pneumonia. I don’t know if I should? Going to the ER makes me nervous with the whole Covid thing. We all got tested because we’ve also been sick and it’s been negative so I don’t think he has Covid. Should I take him in anyway?

6 week old randomly moves in sleep
So my baby at 6 weeks just started moving aggressively and making lots of noise while sleeping (he used to sleep like the dead, to the point of check on him to make sure he's still breathing lol). He moves his head around, flails his arms, and sometimes kicks. I thought he was awake so I went to feed him and he goes perfectly still and is 100% asleep. Is this normal? I find I'm waking up more because I hear him.

My sister hit an all new low.
Tw: rape Please note. I'm pro do what's best for you and your family be it vax or not. I dont judge either way. The problem was my sister compared vaccinating your children to raping them and causing them permanent childhood trauma and then used some bible verses to try and back her statement up. This of course pissed me (and most of her friends) off since her and I are both vaccinated with all our childhood vaccines and so are my kids. So she basically said our parents and myself are rapists... which is asinine. When people called her out on it she came off with "well I was raped so I'm not invalidating anyone's experience"... I'm not saying she wasnt raped but shes also a compulsive liar and radical when it comes to religion. I had people calling and messaging me asking wtf her issue was and all I said was I dont agree with her statement and her and I have very different views on most subjects.

Need advice on how to handle what a father would normally take care of
My 13yr old son came to me the other day and told me that he had a crush on two girls. He wanted advice on how to let them know. He did find out today that one of them has a boyfriend. This is the time I wish he had a father to go and ask questions like this. Don't get me wrong, I'm THRILLED he actually WANTS to talk to me. I just don't know what advice to give him on how to let a girl know that he likes her. Any advice would be Welcomed!!!

First post, am I over reacting??
I'm due in 3 weeks time on our first baby. I'm so anxious with the Christmas period and family gatherings and visitors.. With it being flu season and covid being around, I really don't want our baby being handled and passed around like a 'pass the parcel' game. I'm also the type of person who's scared of saying no. I spoke to someone who said she was the same as me, but as soon as she had her baby, her 'motherly instincts' kicked in and she wasn't scared to offend anyone anymore. So basically, I'm just writing on here to see if anyone feels the same? Am I being a horrible person? Am I over reacting? And is there any advice please? I also want to add, I have previous history of anxiety and depression, so quite concerned about PPD. Sorry for rambling, never done a post on here before. Thanks you x

9 month old needing CONSTANT attention?
Just wondering if other parents are experiencing this or having any advice. My 9 month old baby has recently started whining and crying (even throwing a fit at times) when I’m not actively engaging with her. For example, I used to be able to put some toys down for her in the kitchen while I did the dishes. Now she screams. At my wits end as NOTHING is getting done around here :( I would prefer to not stick her in front of a TV or screen, so any other suggestions for how to keep a baby this age entertained would be helpful!

One and done?
I’m a single mother with a 3 year old. I’m starting to get back into the dating world. Before I actually start, I want to make up my mind if I want more children. So far I have no interest at all to have another but I don’t want my daughter to feel lonely in the future and also is it fair to get married to someone and not want a child by them. So these things are really if I’m willing to compromise.I think if I have another child I’ll be absolutely miserable. Is your child okay with being an only child ? What are your experiences from being a single mom to a marriage?

Traveling with a newborn
We're starting to plan for a second baby, and are hoping they will end up being about 2 years apart. My question is, we will have to travel to a family wedding out of state in 10 months, and should we plan around this because it would be horrible to travel while 9 months pregnant or with a newborn, or just keep trying because there's no way to know how long it will take? I hate to delay just because of one weekend... Edit: if I got pregnant during my next fertility window, and the baby were born right on time, they would be 2 weeks old on the wedding date. The wedding is 12 hours away.

Silver crowns on baby teeth
My almost two year old broke three of his front teeth on the top. Because of this he also started getting “bottle rot” from the enamel being damaged. The dentist is going to put crowns over his teeth next month. Insurance will cover silver crowns for free or we can pay out of pocket to get white ones. I think we should pay and get him white ones since they will be in his mouth for the five to six years until he loses his baby teeth. My husband thinks we should just get the silver ones. I’m worried he will get made fun of when he goes to school. Has anyone dealt with this? What did you do? I would really appreciate some input on this so we can make a decision on what to do.

Changing from cot to cotbed.
My son is now 2 years and 2 months and I'm thinking of removing the railings and converting his cot to a cot bed. I'm worried he might fall out can anybody offer any insight or advice? Did your toddler roll out of their bed often etc?
