How does one persuade their sons to stop vaping?

Our sons vape. And we’ve asked them to quit and we’ve talked to them about the dangers of vaping and we’ve thrown away their vape pens/pipes/stuff. Has anyone successfully gotten their kids to stop vaping?

Anyone else buying themselves holiday gifts this year? Or, what's on your wishlist!

Whether you're a single mom or partnered with low expectations, anyone getting themselves a gift this year? What's on your wishlist? I am really frugal and hesitate to buy things for myself, but this year I said fuck it and got myself a cheap hair mask, a nice scented candle, and just ordered a pair of wireless earbuds that were 50% off! Gotta love listening to podcasts with one earbud while doing chores and making sure the children are not killing themselves, am I right? Totally going to wrap these and put them under the tree for myself, haha. Share your own plans or wishes!

Feeling differently about my dog

Hey all, before we have our LO (7 weeks now), I LOVED our dog. Like obsessively. He’s a rescue woof and really the best dog you could imagine. Since she was born, I’ve felt differently towards him and often get quite annoyed/angry with him. He is super super attached to me and her so follows us everywhere, lays near us or right in our space when feeding and if she fusses he gets anxious and licks his paws, then the licking causes my let down sometimes. This morning he barked at the mailman JUST as I got her to fall asleep and I yelled ‘you stupid f*cling dog!’ At him because it woke her up. Then cries because I felt so bad. Anyone else experience this? Do the feelings go back to normal towards your pets as hormones calm down? I hope so as I feel so guilty not giving him all the love.

I’m going to forget appointments and gatherings and the darned toilet paper because I’m the one who has to remember everything. Being a single mother means carrying all the weight. All the time. https://t.co/rD46wXcVLG

Nevertheless the exercises of practical life cannot be regarded as a simple kind of gymnastics; they are “work. But the work is refreshing and not tiring because of the interest which one takes in all his movements. ” -Montessori, #parentalsage

Kids truly are sponges

My oldest (almost 2F) recently started shrugging all the time. Whether she’s walking, dancing, or talking, she makes a point to purposely move her shoulders up and down. My husband and I were puzzled by this sudden behavior, where did she get that from? We were racking our brains for days. My in laws came up for Thanksgiving and I don’t remember what we were talking about but I started repeatedly shrugging my shoulders to accent what I was saying. My MIL was quick, “That’s where that shrugging came from!” I nearly died from laughing. Now I’m realizing that I shrug my shoulders often and my toddler picked it up and won’t stop. I didn’t realize kids copy all behaviors, not just the loud ones. My husband and I can’t stop cracking up about it so I would love to hear more! Tell me about funny behaviors or actions your kids picked up.

Traveling for the 1st time with toddler. Experienced parents, share travel tips and hacks!

Going to Mexico in 2 weeks with my partner and 3 year old. She is potty trained and generally "well-behaved" but it's her first time on a plane so I want to ensure it's stress free for all! We're going to an all inclusive resort for a wedding and will be there 5 days. We have one boat excursion planned. Plane ride will be non stop flight, lasting about 5 hours. Happy to hear any and all tips! Additionally... Anyone recommend one of those ride on suitcases for her to get through the airport? I'm unsure if we'll be bringing a stroller. Will she need protective earmuffs or noise cancelling headphones for the plane? Will she need a car seat for the plane? I have a tablet and will load up her favorites on that. Will definitely bring snacks, wipes and changes of clothes in plastic bags!

When will my mental sharpness and wit come back?

The amount of nights I've slept a full night can be counted on one hand. My babe is 2y7m. So it has been a LONG time since I've slept normal... I can't finish a complete thought without interruptions lol... I'm always thinking about what the babe needs... My body is always being touched, rolled on, tugged on, picking up, bending down... I miss having the sharpness and wit I used to have. I almost feel like being a parent has decreased my mental acuity. Anyone else??
