MIL forgetting how genes actually work
This is the dumbest, most insignificant rant, but it bugs me so much, and I have no one to vent to. My MIL is constantly attributing my baby's physical characteristics to my husband's family members, and it's driving me nuts! His tiny ears? Oh he must have gotten those from husband's younger sister. His dimples? That's just like husband's nephew's dimples. His curls? Clearly came from husband's other sister and niece. Nevermind that I, the baby's mom, have tiny ears and dimples and curly type 4 hair. She also jokingly pretends to be upset whenever someone says the baby looks more like me than my husband. I know it means nothing, and assume she's just excited. I've always had a good relationship with their whole family. But something about it is rubbing me the wrong way. Or maybe I'm just hormonal.
