No one ever told me boundaries are nonexistent with a little human…
Little man just woke up from napping on my chest, turned to look at me and stare into the depths of my soul while taking the worlds most massive dump, then immediately passed back out again. What have I created :’)

A friendly tip (aka don’t be like me)
This past weekend I took my 5 MO to a “mommy and me” style workout class. I grabbed his diaper bag but did not pack a bottle or formula because we were only going to be gone an hour and he had just had a bottle before we left. What’s the harm right? We get out of class and one of my tires is completely flat. I contact AAA and they give us a 3 hour wait time for service. Of course this happens the weekend we are dog sitting and my husband was stuck without a vehicle because I had his car. (My car was at our home). Thankfully my mom was able to stop and pick up the bottles/formula and bring them to me, but it was definitely a lesson in preparedness. (I had never wished breastfeeding had worked out for us more than in that moment). Moral of the story: always bring what you need to feed/change/keep the baby happy, because a one hour workout class can turn into a multi-hour event.

Our baby is 6.5 months old. She is our first baby and is all around just a really good baby and has been since we brought her home. So many people say "oh just wait until your next one". Like why. Why do you feel the need to say that ?! Its very annoying. People that don't even have children will say it too lmao. I dont get it.

Evidence on sippy cups?
I have seen various people say that sippy cups are bad for babies. I’ve seen some vague claims that open cups are better for language development. Does anyone have a good study to support that? It seems odd that an entire generation used sippy cups and no one talked about the possibility of any ill effects until decades later. Another thing I’ve seen is that they’re bad because babies can sip all day instead of only drinking at meals - but why is that even bad? I mean I sip water all day as an adult and always thought, if anything, it was healthy. 🤷🏻♀️ I’d like my baby to be able to drink water independently which obviously he can’t do with an open cup, and the 360 spill-proof cups are quite difficult to drink from, so I don’t think he’ll be able to figure them out until he’s older.

Pokemon cards
Time is a flat circle. All my kids want for Christmas are Pokemon cards. New binders for them. Full decks. Call me one happy mom, because not only are they plentiful on FB marketplace, but I have friends sending their old cards, relatives from out of state ecstatic over the easily shipped presents, a husband excited to teach the older kids how to actually battle. We finally finished the other house out enough, so we're about to start going through toys to donate, and we're starting our addition next month. So a Pokemon Christmas means we don't have to figure out how to cram a jillion new toys into our tiny house! I told the kids we're partying like it's 1999 and did the Pokemon rap. Apparently I'm old. And embarrassing. I'm actually kinda getting into the Christmas spirit now!

My 6 year old: How come you guys don't get us anything for Christmas?
So the 6 year old is at peak Santa believing right now. No troubles getting up for school in the morning or eating dinner because you know who is watching. Yesterday she dropped this one on us: We get presents from grandma and grandpa, from uncle so and so and aunt this and that. Then Santa brings us stuff. How come you guys don't get us anything? ::facepalm::

Does breastfeeding always hurt?
[29 weeks pregnant] I know how the world can be, you mostly only hear the complaints about things. With that said, I feel like I have read or heard a lot about how painful and uncomfortable nursing is. Is it ALWAYS like that? Like every time you nurse?! Does it ever get less painful/uncomfortable? I really want to BF but the pain just doesn’t really make me want to try it out. I have purchased a breast pump too, idk if that helps (so I won’t only be nursing). Thanks in advance!

I just walked in on the funniest situation I've seen since becoming a parent
My wife took our son upstairs to change a dirty diaper. A minute later, I heard a commotion, which is commonplace with changing an 11 month old, so I rushed up to help out. I walked in and my son was balancing on his head with poop all over his butt and my wife holding his legs straight in the air. He was completely vertical, while making some kind of Ahhhh noise. She was trying to wipe him like this 😂 Apparently, he had started to crocodile roll, which caused my wife to pull him up til he was hanging upside down for fear of spreading the, uh, contamination. I'm now looking for baby changing pads with restraints....

Looking for great read aloud books!
We read to baby (4 months) every day, sometimes just a book I happen to be reading, but more often children's books with pictures since he has started to pay attention to illustrations. We love the rhythm and cadence of The Gruffalo, Room on the Broom, and anything by Sandra Boynton. Anybody have any recommendations for their favorite read out loud books, something you don't mind reading frequently? Thanks in advance!

Gross.
Listen. I prepared myself for all the body fluids (and solids). I have no qualms about changing a diaper or a dirty onesie. I don't love it but I have accepted that I am simply a human burp cloth. But nobody told me she would ball up her little baby fists all day, thereby making them sweaty and sticky. I have pulled clumps of our dog's hair, my hair, even my husband's facial hair out of her hands all day. She thinks it's delightful. Today I asked my husband if I could lint roll our baby because I swear she's just a magnet for hair. Sigh.

Cheap sensory play ideas?
My son is currently trembling with excitement over a foil blanket. Also handy to keep in the car during cold seasons. Anybody else have any DIY sensory toy ideas?

I want your opinion?!
How many of you has posted picture of the baby face on their social media, even when your parents, parents in law, partner are against because of bad eye and bullshit like this?! How long have you wait it to post it? I want to share my joy with my friends…
