It’s a tradition for Active for Life to reflect on the state of hockey in Canada each year. Right now, we see three trends. Read about them in today's piece: "Canadian hockey is getting better, safer, and more inclusive—for those who can afford to play." https://t.co/GJsYlWOCxx https://t.co/ehqEZtCpXz

Internet sleep advice in a nutshell
Problem statement: My "x" month old son only takes "x" minute long naps and wakes up "x" many times at night time. I don't know what the problem is but I'm dying from lack of sleep! His wake windows are "x", "x" and "x". First response: Wow! Those wake windows are way too short, I bet he is undertired. Find an activity he likes and increase his wake windows by "x" amount of minutes. Second response: Oh no! Those wake windows are way too long, hes probably overtired. You should have a quiet activity "x" minutes before nap time and reduce his wake windows by about "x" minutes. Third response: Wake windows are stupid, put him for a nap when he's ready but make sure he's "drowsy but awake" when he goes into the crib for independent sleep. Cool, thanks.

“if the baby gets covid, she’ll be fine”/“babies can’t get covid”
If I hear this one more time, ESPECIALLY from my childless friends, in an effort to guilt me into agreeing to social outings I WILL LOSE MY SHIT. Regardless of how you feel about covid (👀👀👀👀👀👀), avoiding illnesses for my 10 month old is kind of MY JOB. No one wants a sick baby, covid or not. Idk, the holidays definitely “hit different” now 🙄

Baby's First Christmas is Overrated
There. I said it. Baby won't remember their first (or even their second) Christmas/holiday celebrations. It's really just for the parents/grandparents/family. Not trying to say anything negative about starting family traditions or celebrating holidays or saying that you shouldn't. I just have seen so many people on here and other subs being really hard on themselves and putting a lot of pressure around the idea of creating this "perfect" day for baby. Cut yourself some slack - you're doing great! All they need right now is your love, care and attention.
