Starstruck? 🌟 This Hubble image shows star cluster M92. About 27,000 light-years away, it’s one of the oldest globular clusters in our galaxy. Globular clusters are roughly spherical groupings of stars held together by their gravitational attraction: https://t.co/zruvGX7SKr https://t.co/HO6Xywkiy3

M92 was also one of @NASAWebb's first science observations, partially to test how well Webb observes stars that are densely packed together. Plus, Webb operates at longer wavelengths and is able to detect smaller, fainter stars in shorter amounts of time: https://t.co/c0yPDwomX6 https://t.co/jiTgxsRmz6

I imagine #NewOrleans is in post #MardiGras recovery today! I snapped these photos (1: New Orleans & Lake Pontchartrain; 2: New Orleans, Gulf Coast, Mississippi River delta) from @Space_Station on another top festive occasion, New Year’s Eve 2019.
