Messier 101. It is a very large spiral galaxy, with a diameter of around 170,000 light-years and nearly 1 trillion stars, compared to the Milky Way's size of around 100,000 light-years across and 250 billion stars. [2560 x 2001] (Credit: NASA/ESA)

Why is it so difficult to capture an image of a black hole's accretion disk?
Are there no nearby galaxies facing us head on? Seems like we should have been able to get an image of a supermassive ages ago, based on the incredible images people can get with a few thousand dollars of equipment these days.

Is this an Einstien-Rosen bridge? I believe space to be am endless cycle of big bang-> star creation-> supernova-> blackhole-> big bang inside the blackhole. With my limited understanding I'm humbling asking reddit if it's possible that this is a picture of the inside of a blackhole looking back out
