Beware of those who over-embrace secrecy within a startup. Keeping users' secrets is good. Keeping employee secrets is also good. When keeping organizational secrets you should always try to understand the harm you are creating by not being transparent.

Should I incorporate in Singapore or the US?
Iโm writing a business plan for which involves a free mobile app and selling IOT devices online to customers which extends the benefits of the mobile app and allows interacting with them via and/or their Apple HomeKit/Alexa/Google Home. I also plan to have a subscription service with advanced features. For now, Iโm just targeting the US market and I want to get the mobile app into the Apple & Google app stores which I believe takes 30% of all purchases. Given all that Iโm wondering if there are any advantages to incorporating in Singapore instead of the US and how that might affect taxation in terms of selling the hardware and the monthly subscription service. And on the subject of raising capital, Iโve learned from some light reading that startup investors prefer US based C-corps but Singapore is known as a tech hub in Asia so I imagine that there is plenty of investment opportunities as well. Thoughts?

Will a cheaper Spotify clone work?
Please excuse my naivety, but if I develop a music streaming app just like Spotify and made the subscription at 2.99$ a month only (or even 1.99$), will I succeed? If not, why not? I have very low development costs... This seems like an obvious and easy way to make money, and of course someone else has thought about it before but why didn't they try it or followed through with it? Thank you
