After almost 2 months of 5-6 days of Yoga a week I touched my toes for the first time in my life at 23.

A silly post but literally I’m so happy - I remember being in multiple sports throughout my childhood and being so upset I couldn’t ever master the toe touch but this morning I reached down and there it was. I started at my knees 2 months ago. Feeling mighty strong today. For anyone that can’t yet: What helped me was practicing leaning forward while keeping my chest and back straight and lots of hip openers.

Pose to stretch what's involved in mounting a bicycle?

Hello yogis. I'm a middle-aged bicyclist. I'm noticing some decrease in the flexibility of whatever body parts are involved in swinging my leg over the bike to get on and off. What is a good yoga pose to stretch whatever is involved in that move?

Hello! I've got cervical scoliosis, aka. scoliosis of the neck and I was wondering if there are certain asanas that one should avoid?

Yoga is more than bending, breathing, and meditating. These core principles can help you expand your understanding of yoga and yourself. https://t.co/eOLLxxq1pI

The standing pose is far more accessible than you might have been led to believe. (Also, who said it had to be done standing?!) https://t.co/UFHLXI0241

Sphinx Pose is the infant of backbends. It can be practiced with either an active or passive approach. Clothing: @CALIAbrand https://t.co/PBFnzp3SBE

Adductor/knee injuries from yoga - hyper mobility

I’m hyper mobile and after 2 years of back to back Bikram/power vinyasa practicing without rest (I know, ridiculous!) and teaching, I ended up with what I was told by a chiro could be an LCL strain on both knees, hip injuries on both sides, and some sort of adductor injury on both sides (I think ligament related too.) These injuries happened six years ago almost at the same time, and I’ve gone to physios but it feels the same. Whenever I open my legs into Warrior II it hurts the groin, whenever I kneel on either knee there’s a sharp pain, and even by simply walking quickly I can feel the strange twinge of the frontal hip/pelvis injury. I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone (especially hyper mobile) who has experienced injuries from overdoing it, and what worked for them. I’ve had to quit yoga which is quite depressing, but even laying off hasn’t helped these the injuries.

Yoga retreats in Canada

I'm looking for options for upcoming yoga retreats in Canada and to hear your experience if there's one you'd recommend. Eastern Canada is more convenient, though I'd love to hear about all options.

Bhastrika / Bellows Breathing question

Hi This is probably a really dumb question, but I want to start adding Bellows breathing to my daily routine. I've read a lot of guidance online but there seems to be conflicting information. When you inhale are you supposed to expand your stomach or contract it, and same question for exhaling? I want to make sure I'm doing it correctly and not causing any damage. Thanks
