Yoga teacher here...

Hi yoga people. I'm coming here to vent. I've been teaching yoga for about 7 years in various ways and am on the verge of slamming the door on it forever. Why? Because people abuse yoga teachers all the time. The pay barely breaks even. A majority of studio owners are exploitative. While most students who come to class are kind and inspiring, the loud loud voices of the minority are deafening and crippling. If you take yoga classes online or in-person, make sure you're not as assh\*le to the teacher. It's really exhausting and happens mostly when you're not expecting it (like in my emails when I'm trying to do something else). Stop thinking that every yoga class is meant just for you and stop putting unnecessary demands on teachers who are genuinely there because they care. The level of entitlement and greed in the yoga world is exhausting. Pretty sure I'm done. Have a good day.

Help with yoga plans

Hi all, I’m doing my yoga YT 200 and behind on two of my class plans. Please could someone help me out? I’d be really grateful as I’m struggling with work at the moment and can’t afford to pay the fee for missing my deadline. 🥺

Getting dizzy?

Hello yogis! I’ve been practicing yoga for 2 years now! I actually found out I’m really good at it and I was already pretty flexible, I love yoga so much and I’m so passionate about it I want to become a teacher! I have a problem though, I got my thyroid removed and some days are tougher than others. For example, some days when I go from forward fold to standing I get real dizzy and I don't even go up that fast. I always eat before working out, and this is something that rarely happened. Any ideas what's going on? Thanks for reading me!

Why do I always have to pee during hot yoga?

I’m wondering if anyome has an answer to this or also experiences this. I have a strong bladder and NEVER have to pee during a class even if I haven’t peed in a while. But I recently started hot yoga and even if I pee before, I feel like I have to pee within 20 minutes. Does this have something to do with the sweating/humidity? I drink a lot of water all the time so I don’t drink anymore than usual during hot classes. Sorry if this is a weird Q just wondering if this is normal!

Practicing poses

Hello everyone! I am wanting to put some effort into practicing specific poses (specifically balancing poses). I’m curious how more experienced yogis incorporate specific pose practice into their flow? Do you dedicate time at the end after you complete a flow? Or find time in the middle? Any advice is appreciated!

Hey guys, I uploaded a new yoga stretch routine you can easily do while you are watching tv! :) It is a yin inspired flow - you hold each excercise for one minute. Enjoy!

I’ve gathered as many as 70 movements that work throughout the body. I’ve categorized each exercise based on difficulty and muscle group. If you train at home, this list can be greatly beneficial.

[COMP] Need Some Help With Supported Headstand 🐢

Hey all! Trying to figure out how to get additional rotation through my legs and hips during supported headstand. I'm having trouble finding resources for proper alignment here. One major question I'm having is: can legs just kinda do whatever they want or are they both be meant to have a 90° bend in the knees? Likewise, is the rotation meant to come through strictly the hips, or are you meant to compensate with a change in upper body (shoulder area) position to angle the back more as a whole, and then do the hip counterbalance (similar to a scorpion-esque move into Pincha)? Any critiques, suggestions, and or fun transitions from here would be appreciated!!
