Breakthrough: fell asleep during savasana
I never would imagine I would fall asleep during savasana but it happened. All I remember before waking up was lowering down from boat pose to savasana and then I woke up. You know when you suspected that had too much sleep so you woke yourself up? That’s what I felt. And people were packing up by the time I woke up. I’m still pretty dazed from the mini nap and my body feels like noodle and heavy. I’m extremely calm so this very nice. Just thought I share this here 🌸

Letter of Gratitude?
I took my first ever yoga class about a year ago. Since then I've taken nearly a hundred classes from various instructors, and one instructor in particular has had a significant impact on my growth and practice. I've told her I appreciate her and we always connect for a bit before/after class, but there just isn't space for me to tell her why her guidance means so much to me. I almost gave up practicing several times, and her classes are largely why I didn't quit. Now I've firmly established my commitment, and yoga is changing my life. I am just so grateful to have had her as a teacher. I want to take the time to properly thank her for how much she has helped me grow, but would it be weird to hand her a letter of gratitude after class?

Newbie here
I'm very new to yoga, started last week because, for some personal reasons I don't care to share online, I can't swim anymore for at least a few months. I looked around online and found the YouTube channel yoga with Adrienne and looked for a short training I can do in the morning to start my day. First thing I started doing is something called a morning flow. Suffice to say, I couldn't finish and was in pain afterwards. Was wondering if there's a yoga practice which would be good for strength and mobility. Preferably something where I don't end up holding a push up position for 12 mins, I am a pretty big dude. If anyone has any advice or even yoga workouts to suggest, please do share. I am new to this but I really want to give it a fair shot. Thank you very much

Is there to much?
I have been doing yoga at home for about six months. I was wondering if I am doing too much or not. I do thirty minutes with down dog Monday thru Friday. I also do a Hatha class on tuesday and a yin on Thursday. Is there such thing as too much? I feel fine other the the bad back that brought me to yoga. Thanks for any input.

Do the manduka eko mats have a coating like the pro mats?
Hi! I recently purchased a manduka eko super lite and for the first few minutes the grip is great. However, I find that after a few minutes of contact with my palms/feet I start to get a bit of moisture buildup, even in non-heating poses, which then cause my hands and feet to start sliding. The mat also easily shows white marks like my pro did before being broken in. Does anyone know if the eko mats also have the coating that the pros do, and will it get grippier the more I use it/break it in? The description says it has good grip even when sweating so … I’m going to hope that’s the case😅 thanks in advance !

Suddenly lowered performance
Outside from every easy comment, as the yoga is not a race, I am just pointing out a fact: today during my vinyasa i was really not capable to execute any advanced pose as I usually do. What changed is: 1. Yesterday evening I executed 1 hour spinning(165 average beats per minute) and immediately after one hour advanced pilates, total calories in these 2 hours =950 calories according to my garmin watch 2. I am a bit depressed for an interview rejection for a position i loved, received 2 hours before doing yoga 3. I have eaten 3 hours before of the lesson 4. I have taken mucuna pruiens 2 hours before Of course could be a combination of the three circumstances, I would like to know your subjective experiences, if it is happened also to you. I will listen my body and start tomorrow with some nice yin yoga.

Stiff body
As the title suggest i have a stiff body (very sitff) Like I can't sit down cross legged ( good position) for long intervals, I find myself leaning backwords to get more comfortable. Starts to hurt sitting down while the legs are straight. Can't perform a butterfly. I can touch my ankle without bending my knees for 3-5 seconds. I can't touch my hands behind my back when leading from my right side. (when the right arm goes down to up). Recently after a back injury I've started to strengthen and stretch my hip flexor, hamstring and hips too... I've been doing couch stretch, elephant walks, clamshells, single leg side lying raises. advice on how to be more flexible or mobile? Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Entering Trance?
How can a yogi enter trance? Is there a word for trance in Sanskrit? I believe some Pranayama Techniques make you enter Trance-like spaces.Suggestions? There is Wim Hof Method , DMT Breathing, Soma Breathing....but that is modern stuff. Chanting mantras slowly, like OOooooMMmmm you may enter trance. Other ideas?
