A battle-tested routine for upper back pain?
Hi all, I've been experiencing upper back pain and stiffness for the past few years (rhomboids, traps). Have been practicing yoga on and off, but haven't found something that was beneficial in the long term to fix this pain. I'm looking for a routine that actually helped you or one of your students/friends. Thanks!

What keeps you motivated in your practice?
I have been delving into my practice daily and consistently since December. I started off win more yin and non heated flow, but have been attending hot power flows the past month or so. Sometimes I find it so challenging and difficult to keep myself motivated on the mat. I’m not overexerting myself or anything, I think it’s more of a mental battle. What do you find centers yourself in times where things can feel tough in your practice?

Feet cramping!
Hello lovelies! I'm experiencing seriously uncomfy foot cramping during my practice and was wondering if this is fairly common, and what you do to relieve it! I've practiced off and on for years, and for the past 9-10 months or so have been going to my local hot studio regularly. In the last three months I have gone consistently 4-5 times per week. I also ride Peloton 3-5 times per week and my feet sometimes cramp during that too. I eat a healthy diet and I drink literally tons of water. I also drink electrolytes when I have a particularly intense workout day. Even with all that though, the foot cramps just keep crampin'. It's worst during wide-legged standing postures; WL forward fold, long warrior two sequences, or sequences that begin there and move to one-legged standing postures. Also, anything with heels lifted for more than a brief period. I thought they'd ease up with the frequency I'm practicing, but no luck. What do you guys do to help relieve cramps?

How do you guys structure your at home practice? (and several other questions)
I'm on and off practiced yoga for a while now but only recently have I been trying to become more consistent and serious with it. One of my questions is how do you guys structure your practice? Do you guys do more or less the same poses everyday or do you alternate? I tried Asthanga and I liked the structure aspect, yet also found myself wanting to do my own thing as well (keeping the structure aspect but doing my own poses sort of thing). Also how do I progress in my practice? Will the progress happen on its own and eventually I'll be able to do poses I could not do before? Do I just have to trust the process and not think about it too much? Any advice for someone like me that tends to think about things too much lol?

Yoga in Motherhood
I've been doing yoga for many years, counting on a daily practice for my mental health. I had a son two years ago and have not been able to find consistency in a practice at all. At the risk of sounding like an awful person, I can't do yoga with my family around and get the benefits I am yearning for (perhaps this is my problem, expecting) . I prefer hot yoga, sweating in a room with the collective, leaving everything I have on the mat. If not that, a quiet space of my own (or outside) . Alone. To go "inward". The world is overstimulating as a mother and it's near impossible to find a moment to "just breathe". I feel like I might just have to wait until I am able to bring a daily , quiet, practice into my life again. Anyone with a similar experience ? Am I being too selfish? Any parents out there find a way to get a 2 year old to do yoga? Thank you in advance. It felt nice just to write this, may be time for a friend.

Child’s pose is so relaxing
Can really feel my pelvic floor expand and drop. Is it ok to do this for 2 mins? Have slighty overworked my pelvic floor with squats. Is child’s pose one of the best to relax the pelvic floor?

What do you recommend outside of yoga to help flexibility and specific areas that are not improving?
I have been practicing yoga for probably 18 years… Granted it has always been at home following someone online, and not always regularly. But I have seen improvement in my skill and recently tried to step up my practice. The thing is instead of my flexibility getting better and better over the years I feel like I have reached a stalemate. Also, I have certain areas that are tight with mild pain that never improve. In particular my left side body and hip are very tight. I can never pinpoint which muscle hurts when I stretch, it seems to be a muscle beneath my hip bone, possibly the iliacus, but the tightness covers a wide area. I have brought this up with different people over the years (chiropractor, massage therapist, etc) and the only advice I ever get is to stretch it. Thing is I’ve been stretching it for probably six years and it does not improve. I’m wondering if there are any other methods or therapies that can help in those parts of the body that yoga doesn’t seem to improve?

What benefits have you experienced from Yoga?
I'm in my mid 20's and recently have been suffering from a lot of lower back pain. Just in the last week I decided to get an App on my phone to do some Yoga with and it's helped a bit already. I've yet to really get into the whole meditation side of it though, being as I'm so new to it. I'm getting into it because my chiropractor is no longer covered by my insurance and hoping it helps my body aches and pains. So, looking for more inspiration to stay with this and not give up after a month. What benefits have you experienced from Yoga? What do you like about it?
