Cat/cow makes me cough

This is very random but I’m so curious if anyone else experiences this. Every time I do cat cow I get a tickle in my throat and have to cough. It drives me insane, not to mention I’m sure nobody loves someone coughing next to them in class.

Nauseous after sound bath?

Hey everybody! I am new to the yoga community and recently went to a sound bath. It was very moving but when we got to the crystal bowls, they were so loud in my ears and I actually started to feel physically nauseous. Anyone have any idea why this could be? I would like to work on whatever the reason is.

How to handle this

Background: I have been doing yoga for a year, yin twice a week and got vinyasa 3-4 times per week. So the owner of the yoga studio [K] took over for a teacher that departed [E]. I mainly took E’s classes that were more classical and lower heat. K has cranked the heat to 120 and really pushes the class. It has been hard to pace myself because K changes candance so we can “feel the burn” I tapped out and did Childs pose for let last 15 minutes of class(which I have not done in along time). When we were stretching, the K came in and pushed on my leg trying to help me. I tried to kick out but should wouldn’t let me. I ended up hurting my back, is so I thought. I limped out of class and have been recuperating at home. I am now fairly convinced I tore my hamstring and pulled my back muscles. I am most likely going to be out 6-8 weeks with an injury. How do I bring this up with the studio?

Weirdest music you have ever encountered in a yoga class?

I would love to hear stories about the weirdest music that you have ever encountered in a yoga class. For me, it was a teacher who decided to play 90s and 00s pop country hits, for the entire class. The peak was definitely doing Savasana, to Achy Breaky Heart. There were definitely some people who walked out of that one during Savasana, but I personally enjoyed the weirdness of the experience. Not something I would want to repeat, but at least it gave me a good story for /yoga.

Happy Sunday friends! I have created a chilled out, 10 min yoga for tight hips yoga class for you. This one is a little different because weather has been beautiful and it’s filmed in my garden 🥹

Help with strained lat

My right lat gave out a week ago and started spasming. On the day it happened, I tried some yoga but found it triggered some spasms, in particular coming out of childs pose and any pose that had me on my back. Spasms are gone but the lower part of the lat is still tender. Any poses that would benefit that area? And how much longer should I rest until getting back into full routines/classes?

Found a nice yoga tracker app. Do you track your yoga progress and how?

Hey, fellow yogis! I was looking for an app that would be like a yoga diary where I may track practices and styles, add info from Apple Health and write notes on how I felt during a practice and what insights I got. Surprisingly I found one called Patina. It’s exactly what I was looking for and has a free plan. Just wanted to share in case someone was looking for the same thing I was. It seems they are going to release android version as well. Before I was just writing notes on my phone and in a notebook about how my practice went, how the body felt, what thoughts came to my mind etc, but found that having all data plus reflection in one place is much better. How do you track your practices and reflect on your yoga journey? Namaste! 🙏 P.S. First-time poster here. Hope I didn’t break any rules.
